I have had nonstop errors and a cut down forum list for something like six months, and it's all fixed afaict.

I had no problem with the forums before and the additions add nothing for my use. All they did was cause it to go goofy during the updates. Then again, I also bookmarked my 'My Replies' page, so I come here and immediately see what I want to reply to. As for the 64 executable, if 64 systems and programs (I mean that in all senses) become standard, any hardware changes that need to occur will likely accompany them. If nothing else, just playing bigger maps with less lag will make it worth it.

Many games are now compiled so they can use more resources than a 32 bit OS allows.  Beyond that yes, bigger maps, more/better AI are possible but considering how gaming from all devs has pretty much stalled at the Xbox 360/PS3 level I really wouldn't expect much on that front.

Honestly, the last time I was impressed with PC gaming...was before the 360 existed.  I don't know how long before.

There are still some companies that strive to use the PC advantages. But they are getting harder to find.

She does. I've been working very closely with her to develop it and to make sure she adapts it well to the RP medium.

Meanwhile, I have something in the works which would be best served by Oranos coming back, but I think I can make it happen without him. The catch is that I'm keeping it close to the chest. Probably even more long-term than what Teal has in mind.

Stant has stuff going and is helping to keep things moving, but much like Bison, I'm not totally sure where all of it goes.

I really have no idea what Alpha is doing, but I rarely do.

As for the graphics, it'll move forward. Maybe not immediately, but eventually. But graphics are only a small part of what I care about. Fallout 3 could look like the original did and even be turn-based, but as long as the story and challenge is there, so will I.

Like I said, eventually. the 'current crop of consoles' will change at some point. I thought the SNES was the greatest thing that would ever be when it came out. I mean, it just looked so real!

Yes, they will, but it doesn't look like anyone wants to start the next gen while most devs can barely afford the current gen.

The lack of branching out is due to two things. The economy is not doing great. All luxury items have taken a hit. Had Starcraft II come out five years ago, it would have made much better numbers in the first week alone. But people are hurting and spending is tighter. The other problem is comfort. The devs are making games that sale and people are content with the gameplay/graphics they get. Could Starcraft II have improved the gameplay? Quite possibly. But people recognize the old style, despite its deficiencies, and it makes them comfortable to know they can get something they've enjoyed in the past. It's when people get tired and have extra cash that they get antsy for something new and exciting to come along. This is not that time.

There's a reason I buy games with a lot of playability. Sins, Fallout, Homeworld, SupCom, Total War, etc. all have a lot you can do with them, especially when you scoop up some mods. Of course, I'm a strategy junkie, so I benefit from that preference. If I was an action junkie, I would be most screwed.

Dawn of War II is incredible and so much better then most other RTS (i like the gameplay more then starcraft). SupCom II was a disappointment on a major scale for me however. they basically took everything that was great in supcom I and scaled it down.

Dawn of War 2 is more of a hybrid. A RPG/RTS of sorts.

Its pretty cool if you like that kind of thing.
