just remember to core without removing the very bottom of the apple. Otherwise you have to partially wrap the apple first and you'll probably get a lot of stick to the foil.

Edit: Ooh, and if you're going to stake the apples and cook them over a bonfire, you can also foil wrap some potatoes and onions and throw them straight into the fire. When the fire dies, you get some great baked potatoes and onions. Throw them deep in and plan the spot well so you can find them for sure. Keep a long stick on hand if you're not into walking into the fire.
