I'll take that advice onboard thanks.
I guess I might as well bore you with the secrets and conspiracies of the "Kaziijeans". I can't play them as what they really are.
The Kaziijeans are just a hologuised alias of the Saiv, who originate 65,000 ly away in the Scutum-Centaurus arm of the galaxy. They appear almost completely human. Their senses are sharp, their eyesight is well adjusted to night, and they can move significantly faster than humans. From their homeworld of Ravion, they command a powerful interstellar empire, though still nowhere near the size of the Trade Order or old Vasari Empire.

Above is the Rahma system. Ravion is the desert planet (most closely classified as a terran/desert hybrid) with five phase lanes connected to it. The wormhole is artifical, reflecting an advanced understanding of FTL. The dwarf star on the edge of the system is actually a gas giant.
Violet Sazyli appears to others as a 5'7" wiry-figured woman and says her age to be 30-something. She is an aristocrat from her homeworld of Kaziij'e who managed to smuggle herself through the TEC quarantine to warn of the Kaziijeans who followed her. This is a false identity. Behind the hologuise, Vei Sashana is 751 yrs old and a whole foot taller, and adorns her body with golden jewellry. She is an aristocrat, as she says, but she was refering to the Saiv subspecies to which she owes her increased stature. She fled her pursuant Arbiter contingent across the stars, racking up a record of horrific genocide just to maintain her honor. When she reached the Distant Stars, she saw the opportunity to raise a private army and destroy the Arbiters, but was perfectly willing to play Ryat off against them so she could escape again. The Saiv lack the psychology to feel remorse for such actions.
The Arbiters were originally hunting Vei Sashana, but when their superiors noticed the immense reserves of Galathite (a mineral exclusively useful to Saiv technology) in the Distant Stars region, they sent a massive armada on a month-long journey to invade. The Arbiters were ordered to lay waste to the region since other resources were superficial, forcing the inhabitants to surrender to the armada in the absense of any other interstellar power.
Females comprise the bulk of the Arbiter contingent because sharp senses, night vision and agility manifest most strongly in that gender, giving them greater awareness in the hunt for Vei Sashana. Tiberius is the sole male in the contingent, who still possess Saiv characteristics but these are partially traded off for stamina and physical strength.
Aquilia's psychic manipulation is, behind the guise, a combination of quantum tunneling and inexpicable sorcery. She is a very powerful caster.
