work is fun (aside from the A$$hole supervisors I have to deal with) but it does require quite a bit more than school ever did hence my comment

as for dealing with family, well life is what you make of it

the supervisors affect very little in the end

Anyway, typically whenever I fight w/ someone who's too stubborn or stupid to let me say my piece, I just agree w/ them until they cool down enough for them to let me walk away.  I guess it's the same thing overall.

The major issue w/ my family is that for one; I'm only 1/2 or less related to all of them but my Mom, and that since I'm the quiet one in the house, whenever someone gets pissed they take it out on me since they know I won't scream back until my face is red.

For me, it's not that they need to be put in their places, it's that they're too stubborn to accept another (AKA: mine) point of view that differs from theirs... it's like living in a colony of ants; strangers will be terminated.

such ones need to be ignored, (exception is parents, their house their rules, sorry dude) and when they get all huffy puffy about something and start screaming, look at them and say "do you feel better now? good, now go away"

And even if it's not that Xer07 is a menace or her parents have bad parenting skills, if you develop in a way which they did not intend or do things that they think are unwise, they're not going to be jazzed about it. Humans have expectations.

True, but there are some gray areas. Take my brother for example. He's a goth and my parents were initially concerned that getting into such a genre would potentially lead him into trouble, figuring he would get into drugs, violence, etc. So they disapproved and tried a bit excessively to lead him on another path. Failing that and years going by, they discover that he's just as harmless as ever. Now they just think he looks really silly and my dad is the teasing type while my brother is the overly sensitive type. So he could currently go on about how he's an individual and he's not appreciated, but my dad could really care less what he does as long as he gets a job and gets the hell out of my parent's house.

I passed the ASVAB(It's insanely easy) and MEPS. Unfortunately I did not take a job as I could not find a position that suited me(It should open up more later), it didn't help that I'm apparently in some degree color blind, which is a DQ for most jobs.

I see everyone is still alive. Good to know that you guys didn't burn each other.
