Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

Not anyone's fault really, I just have been going directly to the forums since so little news the last several months on the front page. I completely missed the news, but then caught it and looks like pre-orders are already underway.

Looking forward to it. Sounds like the Entrenchment expansion which i think is my favorite, even though Diplo seemed bigger and had more changes, but rebellion should be very, very awesome!!  :)

Well, like Entrenchment, it offers much more to the design of the game. Diplomacy, although useful, has never been the strongest aspect of the game. Aside from the fact that victory conditions usually force you to crush the other players anyway, the AI only makes moderate use of the options. If it could pull some of the tricky maneuvers like GalCiv, then I could see it being more useful.

Besides, like Entrenchment offered, we all want to see new ships and things to blow up. The Titans and Corvettes are a direct addition to the eye candy element of all that. I'm sure there will be balancing tweaks, but hopefully they will get it down sooner than later and we'll have ourselves two new classes of vessels that are very handy. Given that corvette classes exist in real life, or at least have, I'm sure they will balance with ease. We're all a bit concerned about the Titans, but I'm sure what doesn't get balance in the original game will get tweaked in the mod, much as the new Flagships I'm sure will.

So yay for all of us!

and only a few more possums have been caught in the possum traps, it begins to look like the possums have benn hunted down a bit.

note to self find a better possum bait than od-du-ryat, perhaps actual ryats staked out surrounded by possum traps
