Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

latency sucks!

:) fair enough.

Ran some wire, fixed the problem. Wireless is nice, but it's not all it's cracked up to be for gaming. You know how much interference a light switch produces? It's scary.

lol yes I do

use it all the time

need the high quality wi-fi to avoid those issues

define high quality? I don't have huge issues due to light switches, but there are many other obstancles and one always breaks the camel's back.

lol I don't know to be honest. But yeah, distant, walls, other computers using the network, etc. Sometimes I hit 130 mBs sometimes I hit 60 mBs. It can be annoying.

I have used a wireless N router but in my house it does not get further than 10 metres due to the wall linings ie ONE layer of tile is enough to BLOCK all wireless reception, as is a single layer brick wall or metal flyscreen.

My issue, at least I think, was a nearby metal frame on one side of the router and a computer on the other. Neither of which being mine. So, I had to get things rearranged so I could just wire directly into it. Figured it's easier than moving it around until reception improves.

Sad thing is, normal surfing was no problem. Playing an action MMO was impossible.

MMOs are a waste of time anyways

I dunno. They're the same as any game, entertainment. The only difference is whether or not you want to play alone (SP), with someone (MP), or want to have a variety of people you can meet (MMO).

The only one I'm playing is Vindictus, which plays like Soul Reaver (I've been waiting for so long for someone to make an action MMO that is not point and click) and is free. So, I get free entertainment that is more than stat building and item collection. No different than playing a SP RPG.

Besides, I play like an hour every couple of days. No real loss.

Have you guys played DC Universe Online? I played the PS3 Beta and it was fun. Different from typical MMO's; quick action and cool grafix. Guild Wars was my first MMO, which I enjoyed. Only thing I don't like about MMO's is the monthly's. Been curious bout Vindictus, need time to check it out.

Vindictus is nice cause there's no monthly and, unlike Guild Wars, you have to control your character's strikes and blocks, like any combat game. This means that you don't learn a lot of spells to queue up via hotkeys, but you learn moves (there is training involved) that operate largely through a series of mouse controlled strikes. If you like something more interactive than Guild Wars, this is a good game.

I messed around with DDO for a while but am waiting for SWTOR MMO to come out.

I did Diablo II (which had tons of places you could take it), Guild Wars (story disappointed, but style was nice), Requiem (basic, but tough until they nerfed the whole game), and Vindictus (even redoing missions continues to present challenges). If I did others, I don't remember.

ryat, a bit of advice, when in doubt, DIS-agree, at least them you have a 50-50 chance of being right, if you agree it is a 50-50 change of being wrong.
