Demigod Overlay Beta

image

If you’re feeling lucky you can try out the beta of an updated overlay.

https://draginol.stardock.net/files/impulsereactor-100609.zip

Unzip the files into your bin directory.  This is a beta, so back up the files you’re overwriting. If you’re non-technical and don’t know how to do this then wait until the official update.

Very useful (like in my game, NeptunePisces, rage quitted in our game after insulting our team because he died, now I can make a note of that <g>).

To write notes about players, go to their profile and go to the notes tab. Here’s the one for me:

Hmmm... this could be usefull... but it could also be exploited (you beat me so I'm writing a bad review for you...)

A cool mechanic, though

I believe you can only see the notes that you have left, not those left by others.

You can only see your own notes.  They're not public.

It's already come in handy as I've avoided some rage quitters today.

Would it be possible maybe to eventually see other peoples' notes on you?

Similar to how the Karma system works here.

I agree completely with me not being able to see other peoples' notes (for abuse), but if someone wants to put 'epic jackass' under my name, I'd like to know exactly who it was and I'd be curios in wondering why they think that and if I did anything actually wrong -.-

Awesome!  Will try it out tonight, Frogboy.  If we see any bugs, should we report them in this thread, or elsewhere?

The point of the notes is for the person to make notes on other players that only they can read.

It's a virtual notepad. We don't want to discourage people from taking notes.

Ok, I'll cuss you out then rage quit so you can test it out

I must be flagged as a rage-quitter, as I was kicked from Frogboy's game immediately. :)

In all seriousness, I'll give it a shot!

Why does it say I have 60 games played, instead of 225?

Probably how many you've played since the exp reset but idk...

I'm having a similar issue.  I've played 168 games but via the overlay it only says I've played around 70.  This isn't just tournament only games, as I've only played 38 of those.  Not sure what is going on.

No. PM.

Also - thanks again, again.  If you decide to go crazy and segment the community by giving us access to a 1.2 build as well, I'll probably thank you.

[14] Aha, the lack of a description in the title/no explanation in chat made me wonder.

This is great!  really enjoying it.  Nice to know how good / bad your opponent is w/out alt tabbing.  Would assume it's even better for ppl constantly pugging.

Nice work guys

A nice addition would be if you could add notes right through the new overlay. So you won´t have to visit the pantheon page of the guy you want to add a comment about.

This looks great, will try it out when I get off work.

REQUEST:  Is there any way we could get # of disconnects in the overlay?  I think this would be great to have to know if someone on your team is a high DC risk which more times than not, ruins the game.

***EDIT***

*was just told disconnects are included, so if this is the case than THANKS!!!*

Truly terrific, terrific job guys

I've already avoided quite a few PUG stompers thanks to it :inlove: . This is really going to make stompers' game-lives a lot harder, it actually felt cool being kicked when asking a stomping premade to balance teams :-"

I'm encouraging people to try this beta, it will hopefully make us PUGs games a lot more enjoyable. :congrat:

I thought it already gave %games completed in the info tab when you pulled it up via the connections window? Is that not calculated from disconnects?

Anyway, thanks Frogboy, I really like this.

It's great. No idea if it'll have bugs since I used it so little, but it seems really solid.

Can you really use it with the current version of demigod? :S

How that does work?

You can use it with the current version of demigod and its not that hard to install (a couple of minutes and you are all set).

  1. Download the file in the OP.
  2. Navigate to c:\program files\stardock games\demigod\bin (for me it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin)
  3. You’ll want to backup the files that will be overwritten (ImpulseOverlay.dll, ImpulseReactor.dll, and ImpulseReactor.xml).  Just zip them up and save them in the same folder if it will let you or copy them to your desktop.
  4. Extract the file you downloaded into the bin folder and choose to overwrite when prompted
  5. Re-launch demigod.
  6. Join a MP game and check out the overlay.

I've seen a few very minor stat bugs so far.  I was hoping in and out of lobbies for a bit to see how things looked.  I came across a player with 2 games played (100% complete) and he had a 10% win rate.  So, I think there will be a few one offs here and there, but by and large, it will be accurate enough to serve its purpose.

Thanks for this Frogboy, definately helps us less experienced players find more balanced games. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.
