A video from PAX09 about Elemental

A video from PAX09 about Elemental

Almost an interview, but I'm not in the media.  Hopefully it'll shed some light.  My camera died about halfway through frogboy's presentation at 1pm today, however, I have plenty of elemental footage to share and HERE IT IS!

Instead of starting a new topic, here's a link to a low quality (compressed for size/bandwidth restrictions) video of Scott (BoogieBac) talking to a guy about the editors.

And for those of you that don't like my camera work, sorry... I'm a fan with a camera, not a cameraman/camerafan.

Edit/Update: Since this is still on the Impulse Community front page, here's the link to the other forum post I made with all of my links to WMV's longer than 20minutes

Yeah, I'm still mentally in August...that month friggin' flew by! You'll be getting the beta as soon as we get some post-PAX relaxation in.  ;)

btw, I've got more footage coming, I just... ugh, splitting video without the appropriate video editing software is not working!  More conversations with BoogieBac and Paul Boyer (Art Director).

BoogieBac what was with that one little peasant? He was working at the speed of light lol. Was that a opium farm he was tending? :P

Btw, I thought that the devs will release new in-game videos at PAX. Am I wrong?

Also, can we get some more infos about the combat system? New screenies, perhaps a short video about it?

Yay indeed!

Looking forward to this even if my testing time will only ramp up in October (Hey, I didn't postpone it untill after the summer ;) ) I'll try and get as much as possible in September though, really want to see and feel it for myself by now!

do you just mean passing out for 2 weeks from all the standing and talking you encountered at PAX?  or just some slower days at the office in contrast to pulling out your ... uh....   hair?  (boogiebac doesn't really have any hair)  trying to get the game ready to be shown at PAX.

*punches daedalao* I owed you that one :D

Hey everyone, I'm in the process of editing the long videos as I write this... my brain is shot so much information.  I'm going to start a new post with embedded videos of everything I managed to get... Thanks for the karma! And BoogieBac and the guys/girls on the elemental team are rocking it.  Gotta get more stuff off of the camera and such.  Seriously, next post will have embedded video.

A fun little bug where multiple improvements in a city compound their animation 'time-elapsed' increments.  We got quite a few laughs out of that one :)

Landis: I'm just hoping to take a day off, man...we've been working the last few weekends to get things ready for PAX, so I feel 20-ish consecutive days of working is enough :(  Again, really great to meet you, Kyle, Alex, and John at the booth (and thanks for driving a few demos to let me rest my poor feets)  ;)

Dude more videos thanks man! :D

Okay guys, here's the deal, my editing software just befuddled me, so I won't be posting any more videos on youtube...

However, I will be hosting them on my own personal server until such a time as I reach my bandwidth limit.  I will also be providing torrents around of the video as that would be easier.  So more on that tomorrow as I have a beautiful girlfriend to spend time with after being gone for the better part of a week!

daedalao: I'll be in the office tommorrow...perhaps we can set up an FTP solution where we can compress and upload those vids for you (we have an obscene gigabit direct internet line).  Email me at [email protected] if you're interested :)

Likewise :) It was a lot of fun to get to talk to you. See you there next year!

Yeah it really was a blast.  Also, for those of you without the patience for what's happening tomorrow I've got some low-res 122mb action, you should right-click save as for this one.

The name of the video says it all.  We're looking at the editors guys :D
