Someone's angry...  Although rightfully so.  I'm with Amish on this one...  Regardless of whether or not Sire is superior in the game is debatable, but as far as a knowledge of the game goes, I find it hard to beat out Amish there.  I know of no one that is around these forums with a better knowledge of strategies or sheer statistics than he, and as such, he deserves respect.

And obviously (although I hope this goes without saying), he is not a noob.

Amish can back his shit up. all sire can do is wallow in it.

EVERYONE has a beef with KOK. FEW if ANY people have ANYTHING with amish. hes a help to the community and arguably the best player here.

No offense to Amish, but I would have to say Annatar beats him in terms of knowledge about Sins (well, maybe not the MP part, but still)

Still, Amish is defenitley #2, by quite a bit. He is awesome

It is pretty hard to single out any one guy as the most knowledgeable player -- most helpful player is probably more of what you mean.  There are a lot of very knowledgeable players out there, some of whom don't post much, like JJ. 

There are many people who are very helpful in the forums...Annatar, Amish, Sagewon, Darvin -- to name just a few.  Amish has written some pretty awesome guides, while other people don't write guides but answer just about anyone's question, no matter how trivial...like Annatar and Darvin.  I once made a joke that if Annatar was on fire and you asked him a question, he would stop putting himself out to answer it.

As for KoK/Sire, I think his posts are a bit of a roleplay act..."Long Live TEC!" ..etc.   He is fairly solid player with a dash of insanity where I can't figure out what he is thinking.  He is also somewhat maligned because of his historic inflexible love of the good ol' Kodiak.  The last few times I played with him, I noticed that his fleets were a lot more balanced.  Anyhow...someone has to sing the praises of TEC, right?  So it might as well be him.  

However, it isn't nice to insult poor old Ragin' Amish without at least providing a replay.

I do read the forums.  I just dont post if someone already has answered/address the topic.  I think cykur hit the nail. KOK is just playing a role.  Post replays. Best way to enlighten everyone

BTW Raging beating me on a smurf is so juvenile. Especially for a so called skilled. I wont argue that you r very knowledgeable. But youre also very knowledgeable of the game because of the changes the developers put in for you and the alien races. the same changes you clamored for. I ususally go out and play you guys with a dunov or sova just to make things interesting. More fun that way. On the other hand, if you can ask for a change on the game i asked for i'll bow outof this conversation gracefully.

Ascension - i think everyone knows your MO as well. Just in case they dont you are on the lower end of skilled(Maybe upper tier of average) and cannot make it into a ten player skilled game if all players r on the board at once. Need I say more. Last of the 0-16ers

Actualy the only thing me and reborn ever agreed on as far as I remember is kicking you so would'nt call us butt buddies.  Also you didn't leave BIA you where KICKED founders can be kicked if the members wish so cuz without members they aren't founder of shit.

Also if you watch my xfire page you'll see I'm also playing Sins. I would'nt know how you would even start to plan to get me out of there... except by ragequit cuz of you're trashtalk.

Hard to agrue against Annatar being the #1 contributor on this forum. He helps people with just about everything. I lean more towards the strategy/multipler/balance aspects of the game. Overall, two thumbs up to the guy.

I still think you're a good player, regardless of what other people think. My only critique really is that you're predictable, and that on these forums the civil sire that I enjoy talking to seems to have disappeared.

I'm not sure what changes you've asked for, but I will agree that I'd like some love for the Dunov and the Sova. I'd like the Sova's Heavy Fighters to be a more significant buff, embargo to be fixed, and for rapid manufactoring to last longer.

I'd like a 360 firing arc on the Dunov and for magnetize to stop enemy channeling abilities, not just prevent them from starting in the future.

The replays are so lol Especially the 1v1 turns out to be quite en-RAGING  

Raging Amish is one of the players I respect the most, I've never played online, but of all the forum users, he is consistently one of the most helpful, offering solid advice and tips and backing them up with statistics and/or replay's.

There are occasions when I'll skip over comments looking only for those of a few select people, usually Amish, Volt, and Darvin, Imo easily some of the most knowledgable and experienced players. Idk about annatar, I don't always read his posts, although if both kok and Amish vouch for him, he must be helpful as well

Yes, Annatar is immensely helpful.  And I'm not really all that experienced, I just watched the forums for about six months last year before joining in the summer.  You'd be amazed the number of threads from the summer of 08 where I'm making myself look like an idiot based on the questions I asked.

I don't play online, although I love a good comp stomp, but I just try to be helpful and have just picked up a lot info from people like Amish, Darvin, and Annatar on the subject of regular gameplay as well as modding assistance from Tesla.

But yeah...  Annatar is one of those people that will answer your question just because you asked it.

Kyrogre, I was making a doody joke. Saying Anatar is the #1 contributor and that I'm #2 is no insult to me at all. Annatar is a credit to the community, cause I think i've seen him post in just about every section of the forums. I stay primarily in the strategy section, focusing more on helping people come to grips with strategies that work/don't work.

Cykur pretty much nailed it on the head (he does that a lot actually). I've got a lot of posts that either are guides or have a lot of info that is close to being a guide. That's pretty much where all of my karma comes from. 

I've written posts on whether or not to upgrade the homeworld, made a balance mod, wrote guides on countering the Illums spammer (it's pretty out of date now), wrote guides on cap selection (out of date too), and let's not forget the Unit Guide. I figure I suffered through being a newb once, but if I could help others get better quicker, I would, cause it sharpens my play too.

Cykur falls into the category of superior arguer. His arguements stay pointed and are way sharper and shorter than mine.There's a fair number of guys like this online. (It's no coincidence that Cykur is a superior rusher compared to most). Tyr and JJ fall here too.

I'm basically a human dictionary of numbers. I say this not to be cocky, but after the unit guide (which includes a capital ship ability summary too) and the balance mod, my strength is I can basically cite more off the top of my head about this game than anyone else. Other guys that fall into this category are Eadtaes, N3rull and Volt, but besides Eadtaes, I don't know too many people that fall into the "number cruncher" category that play consistently online.

IIRC, the first post I read on this forum was, "Imagine a new player getting online and running into Raging Amish!"

Lot of Amish Ego stroking going on here. I think I'll add to it. I know of only a handful of people who can best the Amish. KOK is not among them. No one understands the balance of this game better.

I know the secret to beating Raging Amish and I will tell it here on the forums. The secret is to get a really Good Feeder then its not that bad trying to fight him unless he has a good feeder than its gg.

Well, I watched the 1v1. very intresting strats... very similar... a zillion scouts, and then straight to hcs (and a few hoshikos)...

Amish, you played rediculously well, but Looking at the set up... the astroids, the resoruces, and everything... you kinda had a really big resource income advantage that you kept through the entire match... just take a look at the graphs at the end.

I think the battle was desided when the map was generated... although, that would be intresting to test (swap yours and sire's starting locations and play again)... and it would have been really intresting to see what would be different if it was advent or vasari vs tec, instead of just tec vs tec.

I should read the Strategy forum more often.  I can't believe I missed this thread for so long.  IMHO, KOK is a good if not great Sins player.
