Proof of the rebellion and its success

from Anfield the realest TEC player ive ever met

I would like to add 3 people, who i used to play a lot and another one i played just few games with, but were the best ones (our only 2 games vs DT - we won the first and got d/c the second:)). Here's the list:

 

yodarkore - probably the best Vasari player i had the honor to play alongside. Very adaptive style, very agressive opening, very stubborn player. One of the few players i had played more than 25 games and haven't lost any.

 

ReborN -  he was the first really good player i encountered when i returned to SoSE after the "Space ponies", "GE" and LRM rush early months of the game. Remarkable Advent player, who always presses the opponent. One of the founders of Brothers in Arms with me and King of Kings... I don't remember a loss playing alongside him too, that good he is.

 

King of Kings - co-founder of BiA with me and ReborN. The idea to start a new SoSE team was already shaping with my head, after few days of playing with ReborN. But King was the one who gave the decisive push to it and so that is how BiA was born. He is the most dedicated TEC player i have played with. And one of the best. At the time i used to play he was really famous with his early kodiak tech and if you couldn't stop him, you would lose. Besides that was very innovative when it had to. It was him who i played with, against a very unusual team - ADT Ravok and a DT member (i think it was Tyr) and we won.

 

The last one i would praise as an exceptional player is Berzerker  - very, very strong player. I would rank him alongside the likes of Haeso and King Mike i used to play sometimes in the past. Could be an integral part of any other team that would stand against DT and win.

There are few more, but they had been mentioned already in the postings above - Raknor and Cykur - both first class players, whose skills in SoSE i admire.

Whip, I played [_] King of Kings a couple of times during the 1.096 Beta (November?), in 1v1's on Close Encounters.  I won both times.  He was very respectful, although I think a little shocked that his favored Sova & Kodiak rush didn't work.  He said he had rarely lost on that map.  I was very impressed by his abilities and demeanor.

I would guess that he is dissappointed that his beloved Sova had been nerfed so hard, and that carriers with bombers are now a very effective counter to HC's.

I suspect that the 1.1 changes, are the reason that many of the 1.05 pros are no longer active.  (I'd love to see: Raging play, and Con & San again.)

Although i can safely say that since the beta days i have beaten you a few times now and havent lost again to you. ultimately you beat me in a training sim and now in actual combat ive made the proper adjustments but your point is well taken. The nerfing sucks yeah but i left because i no longer had acces to a pc for a while

Something that i pulled from a post from over a year ago to once again show you my influence on the game and board without ever actually being here. Please note that although the whole game was in their favor they still cried to the developers to change the game: HEY DEVELOPERS! HOW BOUT GIVING THE SOVA THAT 7TH FIGHTER YOU PROMISED IN THE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET BEFORE CHANGING THE WHOLE GAME TO SATISFY SOME ALIEN SCUM EH?

I see two trends in this game now, and it's quite frankly sickening.

1. Spam Long Range Frigates. Pretty simple. Doesn't work as well with LRM's as much anymore, nor with assailants. This is getting at Illuminators with the 1.04 patch, but it's still annoying. A very good player can have illums up and running about 6-7 minutes into the game. They're easily the strongest LRF and the only effective counter is another LRF spam or Flak. I don't consider the flak a trend though because I VERY rarely see anyone do it. No one does it because once you spam flak, well....you have a fleet of flak. The other counter, and this is what people seem to do nowadays is....

2. Tech straight to HC's. What the hell. If there's one thing that annoys me is the balance of the Heavy Cruiser. Ok, I understand that it's the most expensive cruiser in the game, so it better be damn good, but it has no effective counter. Bombers do the trick fairly well, but one flak will counter 4ish fighter/bomber groups, so that loses effectiveness. The only other thing that has an attack bonus percentage (look it up people) is the HC. Wow. The counter to this is another better implemented HC rush, or my personal favorite, repulse and stall the shit out of him until you can destroy his military labs and build a bigger fleet.

I don't see much else that works. Econ boom will get you rushed before you can effectively respond. Sova rush is effectively repulsed now by a competent player. A scout rush in the beginning will at best stall your opponent so you can rush to lrms yourself.

People don't go for more interesting opening moves because of how easily countered everything is by early lrms, and how dominant late game HC's are. I don't make fleets of Light Frigates because I know they'll be eaten by LRF's. I don't make flak because except for LRM's and fighters, there's not much they are good for, and a lot of the time they get chewed to bits by lrm fleets if I'm not careful (this mainly applies to illums). The fighter cruiser is too easily countered by flak, the support cruisers only make up 10-20% of the fleet, and HC's are what everyone ultimately goes to and spams abusively.

I want diversity. That's all. I just know now when I sit down for a smaller map, it's going to be LRM spams. When I sit down for something 2 v 2 medium random or 3 v 3 large single star, it's going to be HC rush. You're too far away to stop your opponent from doing it and it gives the best punch in the early game stages.

It's just sickening.

Most people that have had any experience with KoK/Sire know he is full of crap.  He talks more crap than he can actually pull off.  Everyone knows what he is going to do(kodiak rush) and beats him pretty easily.  It's really kind of sad that he clings to something that is so easily countered to the exclusion of learning to do anything else.  If he doesnt want to cry to the developers for help then thats his business.  He hasn't taken the help offered to him by anyone that has played on a team with or against him.  He will just kodiak rush regardless of how effective it is or how many times he is beaten because of it.
