Well, he didn't come out and say anything as such.

On the other hand, I would kill for a new X-Wing or TIE Fighter or XWA. Actually, I'd kill for a version of TIE fighter where you don't get to upgrade near as quick and are stuck flying fighters and interceptors for most of the campaign, but you get my drift.

As much as I had fun with these games, I remember absolutely hating the escort missions X|

In which box have i buried the ol'joystick (Not USB, right?)... and why do i feel like Will Smith aboard an ID4 Alien interceptor yelling "oooopppss" and swiveling up for down or vice-versa?

Aft shields depleted for Lucas, ILM & the clone armies -- sooooo early 90's stuff, and yet.

Welcome to Space (not Earth), some GC3 fleets ahead - most probably too late for real market-sharing action, in scheduled theory.

I can't wait!  Sounds very VERY awesome, those were some of my favorites!

Ahh to hear from my speakers again "Message from mission critial craft: we are under attack"

Also, anyone have a link for anything official on a new Mechwarrior?

Even more excited to hear "Enemy mech destroyed"  or **shuddering** "bleepbleepbleep Critical hit:Arm, critical hit: Medium pulse laser, critical hit: heatsink.....Enemy Mech destroyed"

If only I got to defend the TCS Tigers Claw in my Hornet/Scimitar/Raptor/Rapier again, or even a Dralthi (aka the flying Bullseye) in Secret Missions 2.....honestly why a Dralthi.... would have prefered a Krant :)

Unfortunately, all speculation. :(  I really enjoyed the series. I'm glad that LA is under new leadership. Hopefully, they'll return to the PC market.

Wow. And I think they'll all suck.

The first decade of the 2000's will be know as the decade of shitty remakes.

Please.  Xwing Tie Fighter and Mechwarrior series were some of the most successful franchises ever, before the Doom craze and FPS ownage 111!!1!11...

XD  3*

Q1'ooo10 will see us whistling downhill Rockies slopes for Athletic records, though.

By that time, EA would have reset Sony's last station -- again, i guess.

Flagging, all the way to X-Box hopes for less obvious remakes, to some.

I could go for a remake of X-Wing. I loved that game. I would buy it if it changed nothing more than the graphics engine. Heck, just make it compatible with XP and I'll buy it.

Never played Tie Fighter, but I might also opt in for that as well.

What I really want to see is Crimson Skies. Same folks who came up with Mechwarrior, but crazy awesome 1930s with zeppelins for commerce and AIR PIRATES! Zeppelin riding, fighter flying air pirates! That and the fact that it was the best ode to 1930s style action drama this side of Indiana Jones, oh god what a game that was. Sure they're working on mechwarrior first, but they also got the CS license, and have said kinda obliquely that they had plans for it. I have to say that's probably my favorite flight sim ever, and I played tie fighter. Between the impeccable voice acting (in the pc version at least), ridiculous rule of cool planes and zeps, and a sense of style second to none, it's worth a play even today. Even better, it still works with xp, even though it won't hardware render through a pcie card. And in case you aren't convinced to give it a try, you steal the spruce goose and race through a hollywood set in the course of the game.

But yes, sign me up for those remakes if they're even half good. Hell, in the case of tie fighter, we need flight sims badly enough I don't care if it's good or not, the companies need encouragement.

Boy I really hope they make new StarWars flight simulators. I may have broken one or two mice playing these games    I don't remember why but I never managed to use the joystick, it didn't fealt right ... and it had much less shooting precision. XWING and TIE Fighter had the atmosphere, the gameplay, the story and solid missions. Happy days.

I think x-wing for dos is the last star wars game I felt was genuinely deep. It's also the last decent space sim out there, apart from freespace.

I just hope they stick with that simulator aspect of it, and don't turn it into just some run of the mill third person action game.
