Spontaneous Combustion

I'm not certain how long this has been going on, but I noticed it a few days ago.  About half an hour after I've gotten my fleet, I notice that after battles of any kind, a few, usually 2-3, of my Illuminator Vessels say "Abilities Disabled," and then roughly 30 seconds later, spontaneously combust.  The units in question usually don't have any damage on them (shield or hull), and during said battles, there is rarely a ship that has a "disable abilities" ability.  Another symptom is they will suddenly be ungrouped from the hotkey I assigned them to.  If this wasn't bad enough, once they explode, the fleet capacity doesn't recognize them as destroyed.  If I upgrade to the next fleet size, the counter fixes itself.  I haven't noticed this behavior with any other unit or faction.  I haven't played online or LAN since I saw this happening, so that's my next test.  I also noticed that it seemed to occur shortly after I researched their "Deceptive Illusion" ability, so perhaps that is the cause.  Any insight as to why this may be occuring?  Any help is appreciated.

Deceptive Illusion is the cause. I don't know the cooldown times, but here's what decpetive Illusion does. 1 Illum will make a clone of itself that will act and do everything it's counter part does, but the clone will not do any damage, and also the clone will say "abilities disabled".

The ability doesn't last forever though. The Illum will self destruct when it's time is up. The cooldown time is about as long as the ability lasts, so when using this ability this isn't a concern. It's normal.

Ahhhh, I see.  I was under the impression that all "Deceptive Illusion" did was make the unit harder to hit.  I see my mistake now.  Thanks for the quick reply!  Now I can go back to playing without worrying about my fleet capicty being eaten up.
