Disbanding a Colony Ship

If I disband a colony ship, can I save the lives of millions of civilians on board...?
Or will they be gone forever...? (:(
Um... that's not an evil act is it?

If you disband, they die, and no, its no more evil
then commiting mass genocide against all intelligent
alian life forms.

Now killing worms on a planet your colonizing, thats
evil :)

If you want to get rid of a colony ship, try to "colonize" one of your own already colonized planets with it. The ship disappears and the population is transferred to the planet.

bring the ship back to one of your planets and click on a planet with people, the people will go to that planet and the ship is then lost. Quick 50bc transport for your own colonists.

In case you don't know, when you use a colony ship to transfer colonists to an existing colony the little ship icon won't appear when you put it over that planet (as opposed to the typical case when you put it over an uninhabited planet.) You can still click on the colonized planet to transfer the colonists. This seems like a bug to me, albeit a very minor one.

Well, imagine, that when you disband a colony ship somewhere in the space, you simply give the ship to it's inhabitants, they use it to return to their homes, however being fed up and not paying taxes, serving in the army etc., so not cointing into "effective" populations. :)
