yes, another stats error

Sorry if this issue has already been covered / beaten to death but...  my last skirmish game ended in victory for my team, yet it is recorded as a loss. A person on the other team timed out / dc mid way through the game. This person is the ONLY person who has a win for that game. Even his teammates  show a loss (as they should since they lost). But my team won and we all have losses.

Did he get the only victory because he timed out and finished beating the ai before we could beat his old team? I hate to be a stats stickler... but if you are going to go through the trouble of recording stats i would like for them to be accurate. Most of the good players will not let you into a game if you are not also good. Im sick of being kicked out of games due to inaccurate stats. Ive played WAY TOO LONG to only play with beginners!

Anything to be done?

AGAIN! This time in a custome game. The host (who was on my team) 'netsplit' as he called it. It gave him a win and everybody else a lose. I fought hard to win that game and would like to see these 'netsplits' purged/cleaned/corrected if possible.

How is this happening? Even the ladder rankings seem wierd... some people outrank me that have lower stats in all catagories that i can see. hmmm, dont want to focus too much on the stats as that is not the point of the game, but still...

It's well known "host disconnection" bug. Every time when host disconnects from the game You'Re in, every player except him gets lost. And he get win. Frogboy already said they'll try to fix this issue in 1.2 patch , but it's really hard to do due to p2p tech.

I think you're probably referring to one of the games you were in with me, shin.  I netsplit.  twice early this morning/last night, once today.  In two other games I've been in today, one person on each team (as in 2 per game) has netsplit.  It seems to be a huge problem the past few days.

Yea, i have a computer science degree and I do not envy the team who has to try and fix this. I really like this game so i dont want to come across as a whiner. Its all good, i will continue to play. it sounds like this is also a well known issue so not much point in beating this horse further. I do however have another question...

I have gotten the 'host dc' error in panteon and skirmish games as well as custom. Durring skirmish / pantheon games is there technically still a host?

I truly dont care that the bug is there, just wondering if there is a way to correct the stats after it does happen.

Yes , both skirmish and pantheon games can be hosted by You. Just watch at connection info window. If there's <eject player> text like in custom games You'Re creating, then You'Re host of this game.

They should reset the whole thing imo. Why keeping score if it is not accurate? I just had the exact same thing. 68 min boom...thats really something.

I really like this game. i dont like all the complaining on these forums so i now kind or regret making this thread. I like stardock games. i agree with the comments people made on this thread, but it is just a game and it happens to be pretty fun

well i sure hope they reset the stats. Just doesn't seem fair.  I could just host games every nite and quit and I'll get a win.  That is nice.  Raise my ranks and everything....

 

Its either that or get kicked from good players because of the stat problem.   Then I'm stuck playing noobs.. Noobs don't stand a chance and I end up alienating a bunch of new players.  I'll continue playing if I know stats will get reset.. That way atleast I won't care if I win/loose.  But if they don't reset, then should I continue playing?
