Cool, I would love to play an online game.  I just bought the game yesterday and have been playing it.

I am curious though.  I have no updated the game, and I do not have the expansion.  Do most people have the expansion when playing the game online, or is it required?

Also - I assume you have to have the most updated version to play online, right?

Yes, you need the most updated versions.  You need version 1.181 for regular Sins and 1.041 for Entrenchment.  To update, you need to install Impulse and register an account and your game's CD key.  You can find it there:  http://www.ImpulseDriven.com

Yeah, I am all updated and expansioned out.  Will like to see what is going to change with the diplomacy expansion.  The diplomacy options are kinda bland atm.

Entrenchment is cool though.

I am a total multiplayer newbie to sins.  I just installed Diplomacy, and I really, really want to get some awesome sins games going. 

I logged on and was saddened by the lack of players.  So...

You also need to check for Entrenchment games.  The best times to play are between 2 pm and 11 pm U.S. Eastern Standard Time.  Also, there are more people around ont he weekends.

It also looks like the lobbies are still split between diplomacy and Vanilla/Entrenchment. So you will need to log into ICO with Entrenchment to see those games.

I guess what someone with Diplomacy might do is have both Diplomacy and Entrenchment open separately and then toggle the login back and forth between the two every couple minutes in order to see games for each one.
