Yup I got mine.  I've used the Beta then RC off and on for awhile and it is a super stable OS.  I'll use ObjectDock so the new taskbar isn't a big deal to me (I don't particular like it or hate it).

Well worth the discounted price for sure.  I also get it delivered on release day.

I preordered mine on MS Store, unlike the other retailers, on October 22nd, I can download and burn the dvd, then install, and for 14.99 they are also sending me a hard copy, even with this its still a lot cheaper to pre order

If you don't mind waiting a few days after release, you can pre-order at Amazon and they will ship you the disc for $49.99. Free shipping, no sales tax. It will save you the $14.99 that MS charges.

Edit: Just called the MS Store to cancel. They offered to ship the disc for free. So there's another way to go if you've already pre-ordered it from them. :)

I ordered a copy from Micro Center here in Minneapolis they only allow you to order one, I need 2 copies so I pre-ordered a copy via Tiger Direct, I do not use credit cards I use pay pal and only deal with business that use Pay Pal. Microsoft does not as far as I can see use Pay Pal, the only problem is Tiger direct took the money upfront. Micro Center gives you a credit so you thna go staore and pick it up and pay for it on release date or there after.

Not sure where you squat Snowman but I recall something about EU folks getting the discount prices because that version ships without IE.  I'm pretty sure it was in the article I posted on Island Dogs thread about pricing.

Things are trickier in Europe, where Microsoft has said it will only ship a special "E" version, which has the browser removed. Because of that, Microsoft is requiring all users to do a clean installation of the product. So there, Microsoft has said it will offer the full version of Windows 7 for the upgrade price.

Those of you that this applies to, you're going to have to do a full install.

I live in canada and yesterday I ordered the discounted Windows 7 at Tiger Direct. The version was window's 7 professional upgrade for $100 Canadian and I also believe I read on the microsoft canadian site was offering the same type of discount thru MS Canada but the discount was not as large as with tiger direct, the canadian ms site was selling the win 7 pro upgrade for a $125, still a great deal:)

Have you tried buying it from Microsoft's website as a direct download?

Yep. Same reply. That one I quoted was from Amazon.

And it just keeps on getting better and better...

Last week I bought a brand new PC, with a pre-install of Windows Vista Home.
Had I just waited only after July 1st (8 days after the purchase) I would have been offered a Windows 7 Home - free of charge - because I purchased a new Vista

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH..... X| X|
