How DemiGod was created...

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't DemiGod just as the map DotA on Warcraft 3?

 

You have a hero, the map create creep (NPC) that walk to one area and attack, just as in DotA.

 

You have items to boost your hero, you have potions and you have spells, you have towers to destroy, you have other heroes to kill, JUST AS IN WARCRAFT 3!

 

Those that have bought this game should know that they can just play DotA, the orginal map and not waste alot more HDD on installing DemiGod on their computer, althoug I admit that DemiGod has better graphics, but thats about it, nothing more than DotA then that!

 

Just my opinion, disscuss?

 This has already been talked about to death. Everyone knows its based of DotA. Halo was based of Castle Wolfenstine and Doom, but that doesn't mean its still not fun to play. Almost every game is based off an existing idea.

Demigod was based off of DotA but Demigod and DotA are two completely different games. The function differently and play much differently although they are both on the same basis. DotA also only has 1 map while Demigod currently has 8. DotA is just a mod for Warcraft 3 (a much older game) while Demigod is a brand new stand alone current game.

If you like DotA play DotA. If you like Demigod play Demigod. If you like both well play both. And if you have a problem, then go away.

I'll tell you whats the diffrence, the price, everybody I know in sweden has Warcraft 3 beacuase it is as cheap as a game can get, meanwhile Demigod is just a way of getting some extra dimes to spend for company jerks who dont care about how they affect the games and the genres of ALL games.

From your post, YaNiX, I'm guessing you haven't played the game yet. If you've seriously tried it out, you'll find that Demigod is NOT just like DotA. The one that's almost a complete DotA copy is Heroes of Neweth.

There are numerous game mechanics present in Demigod that DotA does not have and vice versa, so much so that the two aren't the same game anymore.

Looks like you've already formed a quite misguided opinion on what Demigod is. Unless you're ready to actually discuss like your OP mentioned, you'll never get to know how much you've misunderstood Demigod, Stardock and GPG.

Also, if you do actually wish the staff to "leave this thread, mmkay", you've better start practicing what you're asking of them: to be nice.

Curiously, Blizzard is one of those who makes games as a way to get some extra dimes to spend for company jerks. If you were working in a company like that, you would be doing the same. People works for money. Real works, that is. That some one their free time decide to make a mod or whatever is fine but also different. Because they also need a job in something else unless they have developed to get feed from sunrays or something. And live in the park maybe. In any case, people don't really care if some games are like other that existed before. Only care if theya re good or not. And then we have people that every year buy the different Fifas and Maddens and all that...:S

Also, it's quite stupid to compare the price of a quite old game with the price of a new one. Grow up in the comparisons department and try again. There are real reasons why people could choose DotA over Demigod, price being the most weak one. But your ideas are just supporting Demigod!  If thoes your logic about the origonal being better is right then all thoes people playing DotA should quit and go play Aeon of Strife right?  I mean AoS was the "origonal" map for this style gameplay.  And really isnt chess just checkers with 3d pieces and some different moves then checkers?  I bet checkers uses alot less hard drive space but theres really big issues of blance with the game as red/white tends to go first, which is just so broken.
