I'm using Vista & still learning to confrigure with the lap. ,and I got a question: Is there a way to turn the windows sidebar & startmenu bar into transparent, just like the Dell Dock ????? And by the way, is there also a way to resize the user picture on the welcome screen cuz it looks too big & clumsy to me..... Please reply if anyone has an idea, Thanks!!!!!

If the skin supports transparnecy you should be able to open up WindowBlinds and click on Transpareny and Blur tab and adjust the Windows Startmenu and Toolbar and other parts of the GUI.  I don't use the Windows Sidebar much so someone else will have to come by and answer that one

If the skin supports transparnecy...

Assuming his PC GFX card can handle trans that is. As for the userpic on the welcome screen.  It's big.  Other than getting bootskin I don't think you can change it.  What screen resolution are you running?

If your talking about something like this screenshot then yes, you can.

It does depend on your video card, as messiah1 points out. Check your Windows Experience score and see if your graphics is rated 2 or higher. If so you should be able to run Aero. You will need to pick up WindowBlinds to run the skin that I'm using and Skin Studio to be able to get rid of the user picture.

Area we talking about the user pic on the welcome screen or the startmenu.  Welcome screen being where you login (also called the login screen or logon screen).  Startmenu being what you see in carguy1's picture on the left.  (Sorry if that seems dumbed down, but I've found that people have their own language for things.)
