I will post here when we have a good sampling of 30 or 40, then update if there are significant changes.

The survey is a pretty ugly format, sorry I felt like forced ranking was important. It might have been better to not force a ranking but just list various interest levels. But I don't feel like redoing the survey!

Done. Personally I think there were too many vague modding questions... Like "how difficult will modding be?" And having to rank so many things against each other made my head hurt :P

some of these questions have been very clearly answered already.   Like "can we make our own spells" has a dev post explaining that we can.   And "will the editor be in the beta" was  answered specifically by frogboy in another thread.  (thats a "yes" btw)

Brought back faaaaaar too many memories of those Scantron tests where I alsways transposed questions 5 and 6.....

Some questions were included because they were asked, and I didn't want to dig up the answers and nobody else did either. I didn't think it was fair for me to make a unilateral decision not to include them, but I assume they will be rated low in importance if it is felt they have been answered.

And yes, it was an ugly survey - I did not care for the format at all, I should have avoided forced ranking for so many questions.

Some questions could have different answers now than then. Who knows.

16 items cheked.

Only five takers so far - I think it may be a bit too ugly for most people to wade thru. |-O

Maybe it's just the weekend?

I did it but then again I'm a professional. B)

Looked at the survey, and gave up, made my head hurt. 16 spots for each? Was drinking too much vodka yesterday too, so I guess I need some more rest before I'm able to even think about taking the survey.... :D

Bah having trouble posting results.

Screenshot? (no idea of how it formats data so maybe silly suggestion)

Screenshot would be problematic as well, I will just post the top few for now, until I can figure out a better alternative.

Here are the most popular questions and their average rating (higher is better) 24 ppl took the survey.

1. Was any decision reached regarding the economic model?              12.84, 19 responses

2. Will it be possible to train spellcaster units?                                  12.44, 16 responses

3. How detailed will channeler creation be?                                        10.94, 18 responses

4. How will dungeons work?                                                             10.71, 21 responses

5. How will the magic schools be organized?                                      10.19, 16 responses

6. Will there be alternate planes ala MoM's Myrror and Arcanus?          10.10, 20 responses

7. Will there be mega events like GC2?                                             9.56, 18 responses

8. Will there be mounts other than horses, such as bears, felines, etc? 9.33, 18 responses

9. Will channelers be able to change the type of land they use?            9.13, 15 responses

10.Will there be ways to improve research ability?                               8.86, 14 responses

I confess I ducked this one on account of the format taxing my eyes and brain. The latter part involved not wanting to see things like "Was any decision reached regarding the economic model?" get an answer any time soon.

I kind of hope that many (most?) of the questions will remain open perhaps even past the first beta, and definitely for the alpha.

And even though I didn't do the form this time, I still appreciate Denryu's ongoing experiment. I'd be interested in a summary analysis at some point that mapped the number of respondents to a survey to the number of pre-orders in at the time you close each survey.

Wait--I have no idea if you close them. Have you been checking back on the old ones if you don't? Does the surveymonkey free interface let you include response date in a reporting form?

I have not been closing them. The second survey was the most popular (it is up to 71 responses) this most recent abomination got less than half of the responses of the 2nd least popular one.

I probably can get response dates if I look at each individual survey taken rather than the summary. I also have a screen that summarizes ALL of my surveys and when the most recent reponse was given, total numbers of survey takers for each survey, etc.

If I do another survey, I will probably think it out a lot more - this last one, as soon as I took it myself I knew it was not going to be popular just because it was such a pain to take. Most people avoid pain. For those that trudged thru on this one, I salute you!

Thank you. Of course, salutes don't usually appear under your member number, but I'll take what I can get....

In any event, is it possible to have a "fill in the blank" system where people can number them as opposed to clicking boxes? Might ease up the strain a little.

If I were to do it again, (same survey) I would just list all the questions and have options like "No Interest", "Some Interest", and "Very Interested". Those are much less hairy than a forced ranking, it's really how I should have done this for better participation.

Like I said, live and learn (and I did).

I would also like some music samples in a Dev update!  :-"

I second that!    I didn't realize the GalCiv music artist was also the guy (or one of them?) that worked on Fear

Music would be nice... if there is any yet. Although I am not sure if the forums support MP3s... ahh well: there's always YouTube.

they don't need to.   just give us a link.

Frogboy tends to host all his videos and images on his website: www.draginol.com    That is how he provided the video or the dev journal "intigrated physics part 2"  so he could host music there no problem.

Also the main music artist hosts a number of his songs on HIS website.  That includes a web-based music player.  So in theory if he were allowed to put music up on his site, we could be linked to that as well.

A recent twitter mentioned music "being worked on" or something to that effect, and I thought yeah, I would love a sample of what the music is going to be like, even if it isn't in game yet.

I guess the correct term is "tweet". Not going to apologize for not being Twitterpated. :smitten:

There's a double entendre for you. ^_^
