demigod with dota map

Are they gonna update like dota always been doing?

And i like demigod pretty much, but i would like to see demigod with the Dota map??????.. but new version, it would be awsome

with demigod engine! ownage.. i was waiting for a game like dota but new graphic engine, there we go!

umm...that would be gay....and probably the only thing that would be good is trees other then that they should use nothing from dota.

i mean they can make their own original map.. but it would be cool to be able to stay on one lane.. lvling up.. then beeing able to backstabb the oppenent without they notice you coming..(hiding in trees :D ) and if you travel too much from lane to lane.. you loose xp.. so it force you to stay on one lane for a while.. i dont know.. great game.. but the maps ...

I've seen the DotA map and it does look kinda cool. But I don't think an exact copy of it would work that well in Demigod. These 2 games are similar, NOT the same. And the maps are one of the big differences.

The style of the DotA map is all I want. I am a big fan of DotA, some of my favorite things were the chases and ganks, Fogging, juking, multiple paths. I love that. It makes it more strategic imo. If there was a way for that (and I know a way) then it would make the game better, imo.

I will be glad to explain all my ideas (especially the one hinted at above) in a thread if people want, I have a lot to say, but it seems that I would go un answered, unless Frogboy would like to hear it :P

I like the idea and had it on my own.

But I wouldn't want an exact copy. E.g. trees fon't fit into demigod imho.

 

A Dota like map could be quite simple: three very long lanes with only crossing points in the two bases + a crossing pont in the middle.

Perhaps as a joke one could add uncapable portals of both sided in the "forrest" (means upper left and lower right corner above the upper and lower lane)

Well.. all you guys have good points.. i agree but..

they should just make map like from planet hearth texture and not like a giant guy holding a serpents lol.. its cool and original.. but some ppl don't like it. this is just (ideas) some opinion that does'nt realy bother the gameplay but to improve the game feelings

They jus need to make some new maps to add more variety, especially 3on3 maps.

But Demigod really doesn't a Dota map, if you want to play Dota do it, but don't try to make Demigod a "Dota with better Graphics".

I don't think the DOTA map is all that great... I think you all just like it because it's all you ever got to play in DOTA. While yes I'd like to see maps with more dynamic elements (like the LoS blockers in DOTA) putting in the ONLY map from another game is a terrible idea.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

I think the problem is that with the current set of maps there is no real "neutral" territory where there are no towers present, with the exception being prison (somewhat) and crucible.  With added neutral territory you get a completely different dynamic than the tower clinging that currently happens.  I love the area on crucible with the artifact shop and not a tower in sight.  Unfortunately that is the only map that really does this, and its a 2v2 so I never really get to play it often.  More areas like that with multiple entrances/exits on bigger maps would really add some depth that I don't see now.

I think an dunegon style map one that has neutral territory and walls etc so you can gank like in dota could be cool, because just copying the dota map would be lame, tree in demigod would not look right.

Why on earth would you put a map with tiny lanes, difficult pathfinding for "juke" spots, and massive LoSing in a game where units consistantly get stuck in corners? BAD idea. BAAAD idea. As for the "general structure" of the map, that's essentially Cataract with a spawn in the middle.

I agree with the gentleman above who said pathing issues=lol. Yes pathing is very poor in this game and would be tough with the trees.

You know... people could be speaking from the hypothetical standpoint that the pathing would be fixed by the time they start releasing new maps (I really hope this is the case...)

do not generalize the dota community, ive been playing pub for years and there are good people out there

ive seen people take your items and bring it to you so you dont have to go back to fountain

lend them their ring or give you tangoes, share their bottle, share their chickens

those that do trash talks are kids, and those who are trashed talked to are newbies

 

i did not say cramped tiny lanes with walls, i said "lanes" which could branch out little path's, gank areas, etc.. currently demigod maps looks like a deathmatch map

But think about it. Large characters like Rook would always get stuck due to the closed-in nature of juke areas, unless the gaps between the trees were significantly large. This would then make characters much easier to track through the foliage, which sort of negates the idea, eh?

A map with walls (as opposed to bottomless pits) might be interesting for LoS though...
