various issues

Hi sinners!

Well, I have a few annoying issues with the game.  When I have antialiasing enabled (does not matter what level) I get bizarro white pixels flashing at the edges of 3d objects.  If I have antialiasing on or off eventually I'll begin to see graphical effects (such as phase jump and nuke effects) disappear.  Also I will sometimes get random slowdowns for no apparent reason.  Sometimes I will be in a battle and the game is running really smooth and then it will lag for a while.  I haven't tested this enough but I think once I get to the stage where I get these random lags is also the time where graphical effects disappear.  I have to save the game and load from that save to fix the graphical effects disappearing problem.  Anyone know how to fix these issues?

Here are my system specs:

Vista 32-bit (service pack 2)

AMD Athlon 64-bit dual core 2.60 Ghz

ATI Radeon 4850

2 gb ram

Re: white pixels, take a look at this thread:

The suggested fix has mostly worked for many people.

Slowdowns and particle effects disappearing can happen if your system is bogged down. In the later game stages and on big maps with lots of players it gets very memory intensive. Part of your problem is running Vista with only 2gb of memory. The OS itself eats a big chunk, leaving less for the game. You could try dropping your texture quality settings a little bit, as the textures is the main memory eater so it should go a bit smoother.

Also make sure you're running the latest patches, 1.16 for Sins and 1.02 for Entrenchment.

Edit: I realized the white pixel solution I posted for was Nvidia cards, but I'm sure ATI has something similar. I don't remember any ATI-specific solution posted on the boards.

Sorry for not replying in a while but thank you very much!  I can not find how to disable antialiasing-gamman control for my ATI card though.  I have sent a letter to Ironclad and they said that they would look into it.  That's awesome!  A company that actually cares about an individual person's problems!|-)   Well, once again, thank you.

Well, pretty much every company would send you back a very promising sounding e-mail, but with Ironclad you might actually receive a 2nd one with the actual fix for it ^_^

Hi i've been having these "white dots"on the edges of objects since day one..only get them with aa enabled..I'm using ATI card and there ain't no option to change gamma control..besides disabling all aa which is a downer, I've found that on lcd monitor turning down sharpness can reduce the vividness of the dots but it still aint a great option. I've tried every setting+tweak+driver+update available the last year still no joy, only get these dots in sins.
