Ressurecting Steel Command: Player rooster and time zones

Heya all,

Here I suggest we compile alla ctive players, their clan and their time zones for quick reference...

I'll start it off ;)

 

PS: just add your time zone and clan in a response and I'll add it to OP

I live in NJ on the east coast, im typically a night owl when it comes to games so anything in the late evening is best for me. If a game is hosted earlier in the day i can try to make some time for it if i get a advance notice on it.

Oh, i believe you meant to say "roster, not rooster" Unless someone here is actually a fowl no one knows about yet >.>

Instead of listing the timezone, wouldn't it be better to simply list the hours in GMT that you're available for?

My reasoning: I (for one) have no idea about the various world timezones except the ones local to me (i.e. Europe), so a simple GMT +/- would save people looking it up. Also, some people will be able to play during the day in their timezone, whereas most will play during the evening or night.

If you simply state what times you are available at in GMT (e.g. between 5 and 11 Tue/Wed/Fri/Sun) then that's much easier to compare than timezones.

I think that's a good idea (obviously), YMMV, however.

As for your idea..sure if you prefer, we could do that...but then agian! those times would have to be referenced on a SINGLE TIME ZONE!

 

Ie. set your times based on GMT-5! cus if we just post our available times right now! we'll still have the time zone issue!<

YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary, means that you may think differently about the idea.

I meant people to post all times in GMT, so if you live somewhere on GMT +4, and you can play between 7 and 11 local time, then you put down your available times as 11 till 3.

Probably best to use 24 hour clock, though

There isn't enough info up there to do it.

Also, there is no such time zone as Eastern Central Time, according to this anyway, Quebec is in the Eastern Time Zone, which puts it at GMT-5 or GMT-4, depending on daylight saving.

I'm unfamiliar with American time zones, I was just putting some ideas out there.

Well,  I think were all educated men and can figure out time based on a central time like GMT -5 or w/e we choose... therefore if he said 9:30 for a game, then i would automatically know, im 1 hour ahead, 8:30 for me,

 

basically, were already doing what you want, you just want us to make a list of when were available even though we dont have a centralized time zone figured out and such...

I feel I'm being scrutinised...I don't know about you but I though setting this post up would help not that I would get someone who would come in and contradict every thing I say..hell even link a page to prove that when I say Eastern Central Time ....its actually Eastern Time only...well! How about looking inside the Eastern time zone...wouldnt you aggree that Quebec seems to be located fairly in the center of it!

 

Therefore, whats so wrong if I say Eastern Central time instead of simply Eastern time! I have the GMT time value beside...so who cares...

Sorry, I was just trying to help. Also, I failed to catch the sarcasm in your second reply to me.

I just posted that thing about Eastern Time to demonstrate that I couldn't convert the info given to GMT times due to my own lack of knowledge. I didn't mean to annoy you.

I would have been more tactful, but I posted that at around midnight my time, so I was tired.
