Demigod Multiplayer GUI proposal

How the multiplayer userinterface could be improved

The current flow in the Demigod user interface is:

Current GUI

After a match you always return to the main menu.

GUI proposal

After a match you have several options, depending on the previous menu selections:

  • Back to internet, when you started the game from a skirmish, custom or pantheon menu
  • Back to lobby (internet games), when you started from custom, impulse join/create, impulse team match or impulse clan match
  • Back to standing when playing a pantheon game
  • Back to impulse when started from Impulse (instant, join/create, team/clan match)
  • Back to windows, already possible with ALT+F4
  • Back to impulse team match when started from there
  • Back to impulse clan match when started from there

In the Impulse team/clan match window you create a team and invite opponents

In the Internet games screen (lobby) the options:

  • Hide opponents demigods
  • unique demigods (only 4vs4 at max)

After a match

I hope GPG will add something for returning from a match to the lobby again with the people you just played with:

after a match you see the score bord, just add an button which says return to lobby. Everyone who pushes that button returns to the host game screen. The first one becomes the host.

Hosting for friends

It would be nice to have friends slots, where only friends of a host can get into. Maybe a special game list where only friends can be assigned to a single team would be nice. Example:

I host a game, going on the light side

only friends can now enter the light side
in the game list this is visible as a team game

The first to join (and has multiple friends currently online) will be the team master of the other side
only his friends can join the dark side

Maybe a way to invite an opponent and friends is needed to streamline this

Change Unique Demigods to unique demigods per team. There is no point in making it so that everybody has to be a different demigod when they aren't on the same team. It's also not a really necessary option; it's rare that combinations of multiple demigods are any stronger than a single demigod (except for a bunch of ooze/diseased claw UBs, where they can chainstun, lower your speed by 20% (if it stacks, 19% if it is multiplicitive), lower your attack rate by 80% (or 64% if the debuffs are multiplicitive), and that's only because UB is kind of OP anyway.

Basically, the option shouldn't allow one team to pick certain demigods so the other team is stuck with different demigods.
