That's not exactly what I'd describe as a constructive tone, given that we've been busting ass for the past month to support Demigod, and have already discussed rewarding those who stick with us in other ways. Brad took issue with the comment, and as it's his company he ultimately gets to decide whether to accept someone's patronage or not.

The only other "mandatory refund" I'm aware of offhand was Chaosnaska, but he was a pretty obvious troll and he already wanted a refund anyway.

If your game has problems there is going to be harsh criticism.  You have to expect that.  None of the players can possibly know all the behind-the-scenes and your "back breaking" work that has been going on for 3 weeks, and yet you admit to that work and expect your players to sit around for that lengthy span of time?  All the while the issues accumulate, the service gets worse and the players grow more and more disatisified.

While you are paid to deal with these issues, the gamers just want to play, just want what was promised and, understandably, expected.  Blaming the community for your inability to resolve your company's issues is something that needs to be worked out interally.  NOT on your forums where feedback should be expected of both the positive and negative variety.  Without hearing that negativity, you developers exist in a cocoon of ego and self-promotion believing you've done all right.  While the community is effectively silenced and you are led to wonder why your sales are down q over q. 

What you guys (Warskull and Tiny) dont realise is that Stardock have been working their ass off on an absolute 24/7 hour bases, and they are probably very stressed atm. Calling Demigod a "defective product". The fact they are giving us a 50% off coupon for all this trouble should make you very grateful, not make you flame towards them.

However I still think the decision was very harsh and you guys you should review it.

We do experience disconnects, my favor was still bugged as of Wednesday night, and there is a lack of recognition for many such issues - even with the weekly journals and all your efforts at communication.

Brad decided to terminate a person's account based on one post he found offensive. You can call that post harsh, and strongly disagree with his opinion - but there was no rule breaking involved in posting it. You have moderating procedures to deal with such things.

The offense, if proven, does not warrant the response - especially considering Warskull's contributions to this forum and your game since beta.

Except Warskull did not have a history of being an "obvious troll", quite the opposite. He obviously touched a nerve, but your response has been entirely out of proportion - and out of character.

Yes, forums are made to discuss, and yes it is perfectly okay to disagree with someone. However, you forget that this forum DOES belong to Stardock and they can ban whoever the hell they feel like for whatever the reason they feel like. WarskullX and Chaosnaska both have faced a ban on the end of very lenient moderators and they should be thankful. And they weren't banned for their opinion, they were banned for being an outright dick and annoying the crap out of everybody.

Frankly, it doesn't matter how stupid you believe something is, or how right you believe something is, because I really don't think anybody cares about what you think is stupid or dumb. And yeah, your mistake. If you are going to leave, leave. If you are going to stay, then live with it. You are just a nobody in this world -- actually, worst than that because you don't yet realize your nothingness.

(Chaosnaska was annoying, I'll give you that.  I had that 4chan mentality...)

I belive Warskull's post was mainly aimed at the comments that people who have logged some play time are no longer elligible for a full refund because the game "is working for them".  I think his main point was yes, they have logged playtime but there are aspects of Demigod that, despite being worked on (hard) by the dev team, still aren't working properly.  By this I mean the connectivity problems, favor and things of that nature.  You may disagree but that sounds to me as though something isn't working as advertised in the marketting or on the box.  Hence the game is "broken" in some sense and they should be entitled to the "not working" refund.  He then pointed out how the Gamer's Bill of Rights relates to that as well.

He wasn't the most diplomatic in his post but I really think it was grounds for a banning like that.  I can see how nerves might be a bit frayed on the powers that be but the reaction he got didn't seem warranted.

As for Chaos... Well I won't miss him and he seemed to take pride in poking bears (devs, mods, CEOs) with sticks.  He more or less got what he was asking for.

And no, I don't want a refund.
