Create a map with SBs, turrents, hangers prepostioned ?

is this possible ?

Hi im just delving into modding and was wondering if the below was possible with the current tools ?

What i want to do is create a star that has 3 clusters of planets (C1, C2 etc).   In order to get to each cluster you would need to go through a grav well which would be defence belt. (DB).  there is only one phase line to each cluster (through the Defence Belt)

C1----DB----C2----DB----C3

It would look like above drawing.  There is no phase line to star.

Now this where it gets tricky.    On each Defence belt l i want to pre postion SBs and turrents and other defences. Defence belt would not contain a planet or a asteroid.

Is this possible.   Essentially what im trying to create is my vision of Entrenchment. ie  each faction (in this example two factions) is located behind a Defence belt/ wall of turrents, SBs etc .  Behind this Defence belt gravity well is each factions home cluster consisting of a home planet and 5 other worlds. (C1 or C3)

Between the two factions is a large cluster (C2) of 20 worlds that is no mans land, with a number of pirate bases and milita.

The idea is that each faction has a secure base.   but in order to have enough resources to have a hope of getting past the other factions Defence belt a faction will need to own a significant number of the no mans land worlds.      Do give you an idea of the defences i want to preposition on each Defence Belt well.

4 (maybe 6) fully upgraded starbases. (with offensive and defensive upgrades)
10 Hangers
20 turrents
10 repair bays
And a large mine belt.

(Il be testing this its not impossible to beat, so above figures will be tweaked)

I want the map to start with all the Defence Belts fortifications/weapon systems in place and operational.

anyway the point of this long post is to ask the question is it possible to create this using the forge tools ?   Is it difficult to do ?

i think it would be possible using templates, but I do not know about the starbases or mines, as galaxy forge3 does not know about them

the 10 hangers,20 turrets & 10repair bays should be a fairly good defence on its own and should take a 50% of max fleet cap fleet to kill in under 5 minutes, and if you add a fleet of 10 of each ship + 1 of each cap it bumps the time up to 10-15 minutes with over 50% casualities

thanks for the reply.

I think the makeup of the defence belts will take a fair bit of balancing to get right.    My goal is that a faction can be heavily outnumbered and have its fleet crushed in the no mans land worlds but still limp back home and start anew from behind the defence belt.   An opponent wanting to get through the belt is going to require luck and vast majority of the total max ship cap to get through.  If they get turned back and lose most of their ships then it gives the weaker oponent an opening to once again attack through no mans land.

do you know of any tutorials on templates ?  I had a bit of a look at galaxy forge and the template system doesnt look very noob friendly.   and i couldnt see any reference to a template tut in the offical forge docs

Its completely possible, though you'll have to do some editting to your galaxy forge and if you want the player to rebuild the starting 4 starbases you will have to do some editing to the entity files. Also you may find that your defenses are scattered throughout the "Defense belt" sense there is no way to set exactly where they appear.

Also, you may have to have a small asteroid or debris in there as I've never seen a completely blank gravity well (not sure if it's possible).

Ya, I've been meaning to. I hope one day to make a planet compilation mod at least for myself.
