Tired of you and your buddy steam rolling newbs? Tired of people quitting mid game? Tired of not knowing how good your team actually is because you can't remember the last time you had a challenging match, and when you did have a challenging match, the game crashed and you couldn't finish it?

 

DEMIGOD TOURNAMENT

Format: Bracket style tournament, SINGLE elimination.

When: Starts May 21

Prize: Absolutely nothing except the joy of playing matches against skilled people.

2v2 Or 3v3

Submit your team in this format if you are interested:

Team Name

Player 1 (*)

Player 2

Player 3

* denotes contact person for your team 

Accepting 2v2 or 3v3 submissions. Any player can be on multiple teams, but only 1 team for each format.

 

RULES

Matchups are 1 game.

Single Elimination: you lose you go home.

Conquest & Default settings

Matches will be scheduled for 3 days. (For example, if bracket/matchups go up wednesday night, you have, thurs, fri and sat. Results must be in by the end of saturday night) If all matches for the round are completed, next round will be scheduled ahead of time.

Each round will be played on a map.

Map rotation for 2v2 is: Cataract / Prison

Map rotation for 3v3 is: Cataract / Leviathan / Exile

"Home" team will ready up first.

Team contacts will schedule their match with each other. Prefered playing time is EST 6:30pm-1am. But match time up to team contacts.

Screenshot of results screen will serve as proof of win if there are any disputes.

Your team has the right for 1 restart of the match on disconnect or crash, as long as: a- you have proof of crash/disconnect (screenshot) b- you were not losing the game. (if you are winning and the other team drops take a screenshot and you can argue that you were already winning)

I will be final word on any disputes. But there shouldn't really be any.

No crucible, its broken; and any team limits, as in we take turns being forces of light and darkness, who hosts, order of hosting, map rotation order, need to straighten that all out salmon because I know it'll come out.

Yeah ill update the rules as we get closer.

I don't want to set any limits on hosting because some people might have trouble hosting, connecting, ect, so I want people to be able to switch hosts. Between light and dark, it doesnt really matter, i'm not aware of any in game differences.

There will definitely be a designated "home" team that will have to ready up first. This gives the other team a chance to select counter demigods if they want.

I don't really care. I wont be playing with rook or vamp and wouldn't mind seeing it. If vamp has enough mana to stay in mist form long enough for it to matter then he spent too much money on mana items and most likely has lost anyways. Losing to a porting vamp on crucible is something that happens after you've already lost the game. As for rook, I'd say that prison is a far better map for him and that he's easily dealt with on any map other than prison, yet prison is in the map pool.

well i wasnt talking about jumping in to the base and taking the portal flag. I think just the fact that he has 2 ways to exit his own base gives him a great advantage

no, sorry. matches are scheduled ahead of time, it shouldn't be hard for the 4 people involved in a 2v2 match to find a time in 4 days when they can all be on.
