2 DTs, one BIA, and 3 others play great custom map game -- a breakthrough for Entrenchment.
First time a Galaxy Forge made custom map has been played in online multiplayer that I know of since v1.05.
Real Custom Map Played in Entrenchment in online multiplayer.
I am pleased to announce that, to the best of my knowledge, the first real Galaxy Forge-made custom map has been played in an online multiplayer game of Entrenchment.
The map was [DT]Whippersnapper/DirtySanchez's 3v3 map Gateway to Paradise, which received accolades in v1.05. With the help of Harpo's map updater program, I updated my older maps to work with Entrenchment. This game included two members of [DT] and one member of BIA and I'm hoping that everyone in both clans (and people who aren't in the clans) will take the five minutes that are needed to download and add my clan-match quality maps to the game.
Why play real custom maps? Because they can be designed to add increased amounts of strategic elements to the game, such as strategically chosen choke points or a design that requires teamwork, a game plan, and coordination. They can be designed so that allys start near one another and so that the maps are symmetrical and balanced. This game suffers from a lack of custom map auto-download and Ironclad and Stardock do not seem to support custom maps for online multiplayer and won't even make any effort at all to release map packs that can be downloaded through Impulse. It's as though they are saying, "Play what we say, don't play custom maps." Do you really want your game to be limited by them? Be a rebel and learn how to download and install custom maps! Let's make the Sins game better!
It only takes 5 minutes or less to download and add these maps to your game and it's real easy. Just read the Installation Instructions text file. You can find them here:

Come try:
Asteroid Belt (available in three versions--3v3, 2v2, and 1v1)
Gateway to Paradise (3v3)
Ring of Risk (3v3, may not be as worthwhile as the other three).
Red Crush (5v5)
