Street fighter IV on Impulse...

...and noboy tell us?

http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2009/05/03/capcom-weighs-in-on-securom-drm-for-sfiv-pc/

As for the upcoming Street Fighter IV for PC, we know it will use Games for Windows Live and according to Svensson on the Capcom Unity forums, the retail version will in fact, use SecuROM. Svensson also confirms that the fighter will be released on Steam and Impulse. The Steam version will not use SecuROM and other digital outlets “will use either SecuROM or that specific outlet’s proprietary DRM mechanism (for those that have them).”

Guys, you must learn to promote this kind of news in advance, not just tell us when the game is coming out.

Sadly, Impulse weekly hasn't been updated for a while now. The problems that the pirates have caused Demigod has keep Stardock plenty busy. As such, we haven't received much news as to what is comming. With Impulse weekly, we could at the very least get a short version of everything that has happened, or will happen.

As for SecuROM & Street Fighter IV on Impulse, its news I don't like.

I miss the "coming soon..." threads too. :(

Well, it's not sure.

Maybe Stardock will persuade Capcom to use GOO, at least on Impulse version.

I hope they use GOO.  SecuROM has already destroyed my computer once.

If you care: I installed the Spore Creature Creator back when Spore still looked cool.  It apparently has SecuROM on it (why? it's $10).  Well, SecuROM locks down part of the registry, so when I tried to install SP3 for WindowsXP, it failed. Trust me, that makes very bad things happen to your PC very quickly.

Hopefully, SecuROM will eventually die once GOO gets going.  *crossing fingers*

If SFIV uses Goo for Impulse, then I'm sold about that option. Steam isn't one for me when there is choice and my default is usually retail (except for Stardock games that usually take an eternity to come here if they ever come... Sins has arrived not so long ago and Demigod can be considered lucky with only a few weeks of delay and is released this week*).

* That says one site and I must say that I haven't found it in the few stores I have visited while sightseeing.

Impulse Weekly is coming back, don't fear  ;)

To the Capcom news specifically, generally we can't comment on what a publisher is or isn't doing with Impulse until they give us the OK.

So yeah, SFIV Coming to Impulse!  We'll have more information on the DRM solution used closer to release.

About the last game I thought would come to PC.  I'm sure that Capcom will let Impuse use GOO as long as they think its secure enough.

The good news is that Impulse is showing up more and more in the news with Steam.  Good news for Stardock.

I'm going to bet about SecuROM but *PLEASE*, push Capcom for Goo.

People is whining about the securom stuff anywhere on the net.

So, where's announce about SFIV on Impulse?

It's coming out at 3rd July and on Impulse site stills no evidence of it.

Aside from the fact I'm looking for it so I'm very curious about its price, I must say sometimes you guys don't seem very smart about marketing, hype and that kind of stuff.

A groundbreaking title finally comes on your DD plaform at day one, and it's still not announced, until last minute?

That doesn't sound very clever to me. Smarter sellers should go around screaming "listen guys, this BIG HIT is coming on our site/platform very soon, so keep your eyes on it!".

P.S. Yeah, yeah, i know. i'm annoying, but I'm saying it for your good.

Well, first of all, why 50 bucks? The game is on many websites at 40$.

Plus... I can't read anything about DRM on this page, but I've heard game is coming out with SecuROM.

What about Impulse version?

Where do you see 50?

Street Fighter IV

$35.99 Pre-Order

Special: 10% Off Regular Price for Pre-Order Customers! (Regularly $39.99)

For the DRM, it is listed in the description. For example, look up Age of Booty and you'll see a note saying it uses SecuROM. When it's not listed, it's not present.

Well, just *HERE*:

Yes, I know. What I'm asking is *exactly* if there isn't any SecuROM for sure or if they just aren't yet sure about it.

It'll use GOO (a lot of the newer additions do). No SecuROM.

What about the price? Is it confirmed we european have to pay that more?

Why publishers hate us so much?

That's sad. I know at least a dozen of friends who aren't going to buy the game for english webstores cause of shitty SecuROM and, at the same time, they aren't going to buy it form DD cause of its increased price.

Impulse was our hope to have a fair deal, but you guys are going to charge as almost twice of those sites.

Unfortunately it's the original publisher that sets the price for it. It really does suck on the price for you guys, but if it was up to Stardock they really would've just done a straight dollar to euro conversion.

For the record for me, UK, it costs $35.99 or about £22 which is only about £4 more than Play, and on brand new games Play is rarely beaten on price, in my experience atleast

Well, just *HERE*:

Well,  the price on Impulse for european isn't 50$. Its is 35.99 euros. BTW, in France, retail PC version of SF4 is 39.99 euros. And from a publisher point of view, it makes sense to ensure that all customers in a given geographic area get the game at the same price.

BTW, SF4 on Impulse is english only or is it localized?

Are there some additionnal costs on those sites like VAT or Shipping and handling fees? Like the following from the general conditions:

If your delivery address is outside of Jersey, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country; Play.com advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information

There are no additional costs shipping a game from UK to my country (wich, for the record, is Italy).

Are you joking or what?

35 euros are *exactly* 50 dollars.

Who damn cares? Same in Italy, and so? Just cause they are robbing europeans customers, that doesn't mean DD stores have to do the same.

God, I start to use DD *mainly* to avoid this kind of thievery, and now it's spreading through DD platforms.

I just want make it clear: we (the customers) are not *SO* dumb as this people thinks.

With the current exchange rate. But if the rate change to 1 euro = 1.3 dollars, will you say that for europeans, the price will change to 46 USD?

The point is, for europeans, the price is set in euros, not in dollars.

DD stores can't really go against publisher decisions ...
