Frogboy = My Hero

Frogboy = My Hero

Name another gaming company whose lead developer or CEO (whatever he is) is actually one of the most active members on the forum and actually plays the game with us common folk...

I had issues with the game during release week, but stardock's instances on being an accessable company from developers up to the top made me stick with it...kudos.

No it doesn't.  I have not been able to sucessfully connect to a multiplayer game with real people in over a week.

Then return the game.  Demigod, btw, is $39.95, not $50 unless you ordered the collector's edition.

I don't think I've ever seen Stardock lock a thread, EVER.

there were at least two threads locked about 2 weeks ago.  one was about steam and i don't remember the other one.

I think it is bad for somoene with veto power to prowl the forums.  Half of the people with negative opinions are too scared to say them so you get a lot of "this game is pretty good/ok/fun" with absolutely no critique on the dozens of negative factors.  Also, you get critical but thought provoking threads locked down with a vengeance.  Anyways, just my opinion.

Yeah and every "praise for Stardock" thread gets trolled to death!   Your point?

Uh, have you *read* the forum?  None of the people with bad, or even just idiotic, opinions are afraid to say anything at all.    I've seen way more complaints than people saying "oh, it's pretty good, ok".

You get lame bashing threads locked down, yeah, because they were just threads compose of pointless, self-entitled whining.  Kind of like what you're doing now.

 What I am tired of is people treating software as though it is different than any other consumer product.  .

But it is. This is a ridiculous statement. You don't treat your car like your pots and pans. You don't treat a rug like a house plant. You don't treat software like a refridgerator.

This is a very silly thying to say, and software is very very different from every other consumer product out there.

Not only was this funny, but it is entirely true.

+1 Karma to you :P

It's $50 in the UK...

I actually find Demigod a bit expensive here

But then the British gets ripped off at everything from petrol, food to electronics.

Stardock rarely locks threads unless they get out of line. Obvious trolling will get locked eventually, but complaining is not automatically trolling. There's a difference between complaining about the game, and implying that monkeys could make a better one.

lol well put.

Plus, if you've seen on some other threads where it the flame war was starting to get heated.. a mod actually stepped in and said, "calm down folks or it's getting locked". They gave a warning instead of just down right locking it.

I was going to start a thread saluting Stardock and their amazing approach to this industry when I thought it'd be wise for me to check that such a thread had not already existed..

and ta da! I found this one.

I have such a great respect for them because, as others before me have said, where else will you see the CEO of a company join the crowd? Who else would admit their mistakes and show you all the effort they're putting into fixing that mistake? When the mistake originally wasn't truly their fault?

They stuck by the developers instead of just putting on the blame on them as EA would've done in a heartbeat. So even if you don't like the game, at least see what an amazing and honest thing these people at Stardock are doing.

Stardock +1 karma. Fo'sho.

Quoting pseudomelon, reply 7Why did you send us a link where virtually no one has any real input? The original post had some issues which he mentioned briefly, but mainly just complained that it wasn't a DotA clone. From there the thread became lost to trolls, by the looks of it.

I sent it because someone boldy stated in plain English that they have never seen a locked thread and there is one 8 spaces down the forum list.

I do hope that you have better material for "dangerous veto power" than that. When a thread is overrun by trolls, it gets locked unless the mods are too few and far between (Blizz, I love your games, but DAMN I have your forums). Demigod has a very good community on the forums, which is why I'm so disappointed to hear someone complain about them.

Yup, its resonably priced in the UK. If you want to see some real consumer rape try Amazon Germany: €49.95!!!

That's an increadible US$66.95 in case you don't have a currency calculator open atm. And this is not even the Collector's Edition...
