WC2K5 and Personal Skinners site updates

Merging the projects and more....

Ok, we just did a major internal update to both the www2.wincustomize.com site and the personal pages.  We were coding them as separate projects but in order to keep one code base we just merged the two together.  There is a chance that we broke a thing here or there so if you see anything that is not right please post the problem here or send me an email.

Also we added a few new things as well.

  • Added a My Skins page.
  • Added a Gallery Tab on the main site.
  • Updated the looks of the Articles view.
  • Updated the look of the logon tool bar.
  • And several other cosmetic changes that I cannot remember at this time.

Alrighty, first thing I notice about the new My Skins section is that if you dont have any comments on a skin, it shows the "unread comments" envelope.

Second thing: Still no "Submit skin" button....I'd love to upload my new skins through the new interface. (I know it'll probably be there soon though, no biggie)

Third thing: I really like the blue mouse-overs on the thread/article names. Like right now, if your reading this, scroll up and mousover the "WC2K5 and Personal Skinners site updates" I'd love it if instead of the orange/yellow colours we've got happening right now, the whole site used that blue colour. It looks really nice.

Great to see the My Skins page. However, I do like to see the application icon in the My Skins list (as on the existing site). Some of us create skins for more than one application using the same skin name

Thanks T-Man...I just know you're the one that sorted out the advocates . I agree with Scarebear about the app icon, also be nice to have back the download totals and the average skin rating

On the "My Skins" section the icons don't change when I read comments.

1 -also the same problem of Island Dog with icon no change when i read comments
2-in my skin section the icon no appear and that is very big problem !!!
3-and when i look my skin section ,section by section, big problem also,in exemple i started for look only my skins beatnik ,ok but after i started for look only my wb skins but that never change !!! also for other section of skins and also when i click in all my skins

in fact when i change ,after that never change !!!

[request] when in the main gallery tab and you click on a skin's "more details" button the left column showing the whole library goes away. Would be easier to navigate if the column remained, much like it does in the forum. Thanks!!

http://www2.wincustomize.com/resources.aspx?cmd=3 The wording on the subsciption info page needs rewriting. Speaks of 4 levels, shows 5 levels, classifies apprentices as level 3 and level 4. Makes no mention of higher classes.

T-man...I really hope I'm not being a pain in the arse.

I have the same question as Essencay. Im a Subscriber yet my level remains at 4. According to the Subscription Info. I should be at level 5.

Hiya Apoc :wave wording was fixed from before, but you're right it says us subscribers are level 5 now. At the old site we were level 4 and the Past Stardock customer level didn't exist.

If I am in the "my skins" area, I cannot return to the main "home" page. If I hit "home" it takes me back to the homepage of my personal site. Also in the "my skins" area, "submissions" is spelled "submitions". I'm having the same probs as the others with the comment posts. "No comment" is marked as an new comment. and a read comment continues to be marked as an unread comment. But, I really think this new format is great. And fast.

I love the addition of being able to view just one type of skin at a time in you library. I would be great if it added the total DL's for each one also.
