TWiS Icon Contest

We haven’t had a community contest in a while, so in thinking about a new idea I realized that This Week in Skinning has been going on for well over two years now.  I also realized that I have no cool icon to show it off with, so what a perfect coincidence!

So for this contest I’m looking for an icon that best represents This Week in Skinning.  Icon must have a 128px and a 256px version that will be used in news postings and promotional content.  Other than that, the design is totally up to you.  We will run the contest until Friday, May 22nd, and announce the winning entry the following week.

You can enter by either posting to this thread, or submitting the icon to the ObjectDock gallery, it just needs to have TWiS in the title.

Prize will be a choice of WC sub/renewal, or Object Desktop standard.

Wow, great Art work, but I was the first. he he, no doubt great skinners, Is hard to win this contest. Libardo, your work is very nice, but You should be out of this competition, You were a winner of the last contest. Vampothika, good emblem, but Is so dark,the website match better with alive colors. But I like your work. Mirsguy, Simple and with good colors I like it. My Icon isn't the better but I want give my opinion about the other works

I think I'm going to sit this one out.  As soon as I read about it, I had an idea of what I would have liked to do, but really...what's the point?  Libardo always wins.  I can't compete with him, and my hopes get way too high, only to be dashed to pieces.  I'm really bad with competition.  So I'm going to "take care of me," sit this one out and work on my other projects.  Sorry, Seth.  It just hurts too much to try.

I had hoped my comment would have changed that....yes, sweety, I remember your pm.  :'(

The way I see it (if I have any right to say anything...after all, I can't even skin a grape 8C ) is any/everyone just does the best he/she can. The act of creation is the prize, not a number or thing received...but what you give others and by doing it give yourself (if vStyler says "Kumbaya" so help me....).

Whether you do or don't, sweety is up to you. No gripes from me. Luv ya either way. :inlove:

You have graphics skills I can't compete with.  You have a fan base I can't compete with.  When it comes to icons, Libardo, you ARE a master, and those of us who are just beginning can't compete. 

It's not you....it's me.  I have an anxiety disorder to begin with, and adding the stress of a contest to the stress I already have in my life is not good for my health.  If there was no contest involved...if all the entries were just going to be stored and used successively in a line one after the other, then I would have no qualms at all about presenting an entry.  I can't deal with competition.  I feel like my skins are children that I have given birth to, and to have them marked "LOSER" (even though it's stressed time and time again there are no losers...yada, yada...in my mind, if my "child" doesn't win, then it's a loser), hurts too much.

Right now, I skin for myself...for my own needs.  If I feel its something someone else might use, I upload it to Deviant Art, and if I feel its particularly good, considering my ability, I upload it here.  So far, this has been working well for me. 

I don't know....you would think after all the rejection I've had in my life, and the fact that I'm 50, I would be able to deal with it a little better than I do, but inside I guess I'm still a little girl who didn't get enough attention due to the fact that my parents gave birth to twin girls when I was only 18 months old...a cross I'll bear until I die, I'm sure.  ANNNYway...enough about my mental problems.
