Question: How many of you all are going to go back to playing DotA as soon as 6.60 comes out with more heroes (on top of the 80 already there), new items, and new rebalances?
yay 93 heros, well over half that are not used. yay. DotA crowd is a bit too serious for me.
Probably not. DotA was fun, but I couldn't get my friends into it. Now I have all my friends playing Demigod

Sure it does, if you're not playing comp then theres lots of heroes to mess around with.
And I never really left dota, still play it every once in a while with friends, and play in a few tourny here and there.
never went to dota and i wont be this isn't dota nor will it evey be dota
Not that i've played DOTA In years, but I'd prefer to stick with this game as it moves forward.

Question: Why is this thread in the "general Demigod" section in the first place? I mean, hello, there's no relation whatsoever to Demigod.
As for DotA, it's based off of a Blizzard product and they're not a trustworthy company in my eye.
Clearly stated by somebody who was never more than a pub failure. Just because you were never good at the game, doesn't mean it was a bad game. It's a team based game which is very skill dependant. Not to mention at the moment, dota has a LOT on DG, for example it works properly. Right now DG has a ton of problems littered everywhere.
Lol...contradictions all throughout that post buddy. For starters, Demigod is indeed based right off of the Dota map every single review will clearly state this, therefore this post technically does have a relation to Demigod. Its not based off a blizzard product, its designed within the products map editor.
And Blizzard is a great company, when have they ever not been trustworthy? All their products are solid and very well done ever since Blackthorne.
For future posters don't even bother going into WoW bullshit, not that you'll bother listening anyways. It's an endless arguement with that game.

Dota players and Demigod players should be friends. It pains us when people see these games as competitors when we thought part of the objective here is to help expand a fresh new genre into the gaming world. Unless Dota or Demigod players think this type of game is doomed to be a niche then why is there always so much animosity?

I may check it out in a couple weeks when I'm home for the summer, if I feel like it.
Don't feel like spending $20 on Warcraft 3 just to play Dota. Also, maybe if Dota Community 2.0 gets released I'll think about it.
Pretty much every online community is going to be the same to you then. You'll have your elitist separtist assholes, and the rest of the community won't really matter since you'll judge everyone else in the community by the former.
Not by a longshot. Communities vary. Dota is agreed by most to be one of the worst.
That's like saying just because /b/ in 4chan is awful (and 4chan itself has a pretty bad rep), I must think Stardock forums are the same.
He should really stop updating DoTA its slow paced and on an outdated engine. The amount of years hes put into a map inside of another game, even though the trigger system isn't bad, he could have been designing a stand alone game with much better features.
