What fixed my connection problem

But at what cost?

After opening the right ports, etc, I still had trouble with MP.  I finally found the setting that was causing my MP connectivity problems (and crashes after the last patch)

Enable "Respond to WAN Ping" in your router.  This is usually under security / firewall / advanced connection in your router page.

Would this be the same as "Respond to ICMP Ping" ? I dont see why this would be required to be turned on but im glad you found a working solution for your problems!

I'll be sure to look into this when I get home from work O:)

I'm guessing this is probably the same (well, the inverse of) 'Block WAN requests'?  Any ideas if so, cos it's possible that could be causing some of my problems as well if it is.

It'd be nice if router manufacturers could agree on some consistent terminology..

Yeah it's the same as Block WAN request.  And my linksys has it under the security section as "Block Anonymous Internet Requests"

I'm unchecking it and maybe it'll help some, but I don't have too much trouble connection 'usually'

Lol these icons are cool :waaaa:
