LAG problems, Sound Glitches

hi, ummm...it seems that when i bought this game (i was so excited) i thought it was gonna run smoothly, even if i had to put it on Low graphics and everything. The Specs even say that i could play it.

I dnt kno if its my computer, but the game lags sooo badly, its going about 3-5 FPS.

My CPU is a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, 2.01 GHz

I also have bout 1.75 RAM

And my Video Card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

And if that wasnt enough.....sometimes the games sound itself would kinda lag to. I mean....u can hear it....but it kinda glitches over and over.

Please help, and THNX!!

your computer is really slow; the biggest clinch-pins are you single-core CPU, and entry-level GPU. i suggest you start saving up your pennies for a new computer; shop around and building it yourself and you'll get a killer setup for under $700.

the cheap stuff that's not really expected to play games on.

it was an okay card when it came out, however that was a few years ago (and Demigod is brand-spanking-new).

The game should be fine on that GPU - won't be great but I don't think should cause the lag you are experiencing

I suspect like a lot of us the issue is a problem with the sound side of things which is causing the game to lag.

I have an AMD 3200+, 8800GT, 2GB ram. Running with the /nosound switch I get +40fps, without it I am lucky if I squeeze 20fps.

Try it and if it works then post to  http://forums.demigodthegame.com/348232

thanks alote bullet and talsworthy. Since i dnt have the BUCKS ($$$) to actually buy a computer right NOW....i'll go wit talsworthy idea.

But in bout 6 months, i should be able to either upgrade my pc, or buy a totally new one. Dnt kno which exactly, but when that time comes, i'll choose.

If any suggestions, i'm happy to hear them

I have experienced the full aspects of the Nosound Performance Issue, with framerates being slow and sound being choppy whereas I had a whole new generation Geforce Card (GTX 260), no problem with any other game on Full Details, and 4GB RAM.

I have found a solution to this issue that I haven't seen reported in the Technical Support forum. This solution has been found by some users and reported in a "Supreme Commander" forum section. The user reported a bad link though, whereas I will supply here the right link.

This is a problem linked to corrupted DirectX library.

A file (

d3dx9_36.dll

may be downloaded here :

It needs to be installed in windows/system32.

This file has same size and about same date that the original file I had there, except that the date I had was 4:04 PM and this one is 3:04 PM.

After copying & pasting this file there, I experience absolutely no issue.
Sound is smooth, game becomes smooth like hell.
Please try this if you are experiencing problems.
And report here if this works :-)
