How to Change Your Account Name

so it reflects the change in-game

I went to My account profile here on the forum and updated the login name.  The name change is reflected in my posts and in the way I login to online play.  However, ingame my account name is still the old name.  Maybe I'm crazy, but thats where I want it changed.  Who wants to be a big badass demigod with a name like Poodles?  Had I known my character name would be my account name, I would have picked something more manly.  Any assistance in this regard?

Thanks!

Yeah, I would like to know how to change your in-game account name as well, I changed it here on the forum and it reclects and even when I sign in in-game I can use the new login, but it still reflects the old name I started with.

They've acknowledged the problem, but last I heard they were still investigating.

The sure-fire method for changing your name is to create a new Impulse account with the desired Name, and merge your old and new account together. This will change your name in Demigod and not effect with products you have access to via Impulse. This is a run-a-round fix, however.

Stardock are aware of the problem, and if I recall they're planning on introducing a way to change your Demigod Nick Name without having to change your Account Name in the near future.

Thanks, at least there is a workaround.  I'll give that a shot and see what happens.

Account names and player names are different.  We are going to add a system that will allow you to add players, delete them, change their names, etc.  This will reflect in the game, but will not affect your stardock account name.

EDIT: It looks like we have a job that runs every once in a while and updates the nicknames in Demigod.  In other words, if you change your account name, wait a little while and your in-game name will change too.

Thanks for the offical word Bara!

I'm curious though, I updated my Account Name to ZehDon the day I bought Demigod, the 17th of April. Today, my name in Demigod is still my original account name, dtickner. Does your automated job simply hate me because I'm Australian, or is there something wrong?

The latest Demigod update fixes this issue.  Thanks Dev team, you guys (and gals) are a dedicated bunch!

Yesss ... Thanxxx a lot ! I was tired of being branded with my dad's nick (which was the previous Impulse Account name).

Looks ok to me in the database.  Is the game still reporting your old name?

separating account name from in-game name was mentioned in April. Any status update?

Likely not for Demigod, sorry.

just change both.  No need to have them separate.

I'm actually a bit confused by this.  I can change my user name on the forums and it is reflected in demigod.  Is it really that big of a deal that you have to change your impulse account to change your username in dg?  Outside of convenience maybe?

I think it was mostly an issue for people who already had a name through impulse for another game and wanted a different nickname for demigod.  That way they could still post on other forums and people wouldn't be confused as to who they were.  Not really a big deal.

Dedicated?  LOL!  They abandoned the game flat out....
