Odd graphical glitch

For some reason Queen of Thorn's bramble shield does not display on my computer.  It still takes effect, you just can't see the little green globe effect on the battlefield.

I have this as well when I play on my laptop (Dell M1710 with a Nvidia 7950).

When I play on my desktop (Nvidia 8600) I see it fine.  I updated my go drivers and still nothing.  Not sure why it's doing this, but it doesn't display any persistent graphical effects.  For instance, it also won't show the "puddle" effect for the Unclean Beast's spit, and it won't show the fire aura for the Torch Bearer's PBAOE.

If you figure it out, please post the solution!

What level do you have your graphics quality set to?

Mine is set to medium on every level.

I should also note that if I set every thing to high I still do not see the bramble shield.

I also have an Nvidia 7950 with all settings set to high and the problems I have are pretty much exactly what has been described above.  The problems persisted even after reinstalling the program, defaulting settings, changing resolution, etc.

someone add /purgecache to their shortcut, and see if that helps.

SupCom appears to have a similar bug, and this fixes it.

Alright I added "/purgecache" to the shortcut so that the "Target" text box read as follows:

"C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe" /purgecache

Then I loaded up a singleplayer skirmish to try out bramble shield and it still lacked any sort of visual effect.

bummer.

it was worth a try.

I have this problem as well....no one has any other ideas?

If it's an nvidia go card (the laptop version) whatever they use to do those effects may just not be supported on it.

I assume you've already tried updating drivers?

yeah and i tried bata drivers with a modded inf....nothing changes.

I'm on a GEForce 7800 and I can't imagine it doesn't support a little shiny green globe.

I just tried every combo of video options on my machine and can always see the bubble :(

So were you going to post your specs or were you just trying to be unhelpful?

Apparently not......It is hard to belive that this is not supported on our cards....we have to wait for new drivers? That will be a long time. So its kind of lame that its not what its supposed to be.

Just a "me, too" to say that I get this on two separate computers with GeForce 7800GS videocards.  No matter what graphics settings I use, I can't see the Queen's bramble shield or the TorchBearer's ring of fire, which both have pretty significant gameplay implications.

I lose the effects of both the ring and the brambles if I zoom out past a certain point (which is pretty low)

I also lose those effects if my effects fidelity is anything lower than the highest.

Same glitches here.  Geforce 7950, Windows XP.

No circle of flame, no town portal animation.  Who knows what other graphical elements we aren't seeing?  How would we know anyway?

I didnt know untile i saw it on my friends comp otherwise i wuould have not noticed. besides taking damage from things randomly. I dont suppose anyone has tried the new beta drivers?

I have the same problem using the NVidia 7950.  I made a video and posted on youtube, showing the problem.  It affects many aspects of the game:

I verified that I'm using the latest nvidia drivers.  I can upload dxdiag if it would be helpful.

Edit: Updated the video to show missing visuals from bramble shield and improve quality.

Can we get some Stardock confirmation on this? Is this problem being worked on? It really affects gameplay for people who have these cards (seems to be Geforce 7 series--at least 7950 and 7800).
