Tip for newer players when playing online

Tip for newer players when playing online

Do not play custom games online.  Ever.  Due to various imbalances, tricks, exploits, hacks, etc. your demigod will evaporate instantly upon contact with an enemy demigod.  If it hasn't happened to you yet, it WILL happen to you sooner or later, and probably more sooner than later.  You will not learn anything from games like this, ever.  You will also not have any fun with games like this, ever.

Your best bet is with skirmish mode, or pantheon.  I have had much, much better experiences with these modes online.  I don't know the explanation for this, but my theory is that certain exploits, tricks, hacks, imbalances, etc. are not present in skirmish or pantheon modes.

Bottom line - just play skirmish or pantheon mode.

Quoting ShadowMastiff2468, reply 4I've played 6 games of pantheon so far and got 5 of them FILLED WITH PLAYERS (5 vs 5). BEST multiplayer experience of my life! Even got the HONOUR of getting my ass wiped by HorseRadish (my ratio is 4 wins / 1 loss because of him ). Only one game did I only get bots and I got warned (the in-game voice saying players have disconnected) so I asked in game if anyone was around..no one replied so I quit and restarted a new game (5 mins later I was fighting in out in a fortress pantheon game where we won by 1 fortress (less than 2000 health left ).

So NO the pantheon is NOT filled with bots to the contrary! Read the Monk's networking guide to Demigod and all will be made clear and you will NEVER have another connection issue again (worked for me )

-ShadowMastiff2468-

Shadow you guys played well and controlled flags early You just have to watch out when you give someone early priests if you can't push with them. Hold off because you allowed me to farm and out level you. Look me up on irc will tell you your other mistakes

No offence but acting arrogant is going to make people not want to play with you at all. Let alone make them want to listen to you tell them about their mistakes. (that sentence came out really akward for some reason.)

Was I talking to you NOOB

Also Reason to Avoid Custom Games if your new and have no friends on-line you will get raped by pre-arranged teams. So agents first post has a lot of merit

best tips ever:

1) try not to die

2) dont quit

3) learn from mistakes

4) citadel upgrades are there for a reason - use them when possible.

There's a way to tell usually if your playing against a "stacked team".  If you join a game, and there is 3 or more in the Light area (or Dark) and they put you as a single player on the oppisite side (wating for two more "victums" to join your side).  You can also type something like "even teams please", and they won't do it.  If you want to be absoulutely sure, just leave your side, and occupy one of the slots in their side; two things will happen: one or two people will just occupy the other side, without a word (they are just trying to even teams out, and don't care who plays with who), or they will ask "what are you doing?", then just say something like "oh, which two of us should be on the other team".  If they are a stacked team, they will refuse to go to the other side with you.

first ive only played custom games more or less ,  a lot of them and ive lost 1-2 so far , not that many stacked teams , and usually they aint that good anyways , and skirmish/pantheon takes forever to start and 50% chance of having a lot of bots (which imo is so immensly boring).

op just cant play the game ... hes a scrub in the full sense of the word and also

his statement in another thread is (WHICH IS A LIE which i show a bit further down) He is a troll and a scrub and should be treated as such he also stated no pots were used

"RainFall, I couldn't agree with you more.  I finally learned in a mirror match against a Rook how devastating it can be when some other a-hole has a powerful favor item and you don't have dick.  In this match I equipped the two armors I could equip at the game start, picked hammer slam, and ran out to my first flag.  I met the enemy Rook there (10 seconds into the game).  I moused over his hit points - they were identical to mine.  We just stood there and fought each other blow for blow.  There was no fancy "micro," no "skill" or anything else involved, just stand there and whack each other.  Not only did I get the first blow in, but I also got more hammer slams in than he did.  Guess what?  I got killed, but that wasn't the bad part.  The bad part was, he had half his hit points left, LOL.

Yeah, I despise the whole concept of favor items.  What BS that is."

my reply

only thing he ever could have done if you had the same amount of hp when you started out (which should have been 2300) could have been taking a pot or 2 (which you say he didnt).

see he could have gotten the hammer 40 damage 5% atk speed , and the atk gloves for 25 more damage , but this should not have put him on having 1150 hp left anyways..

and to further give a little proof of my ... well flaming of you .

you got more hammer slams in then him ? im guessing that is 2 then right ... which is 1000 damage , and you got the first strike in which is approx 150 damage thats half his hit points right there and as you were autoattacking in the meantime.

Now i dont have the knowledge of the exact cooldown time on hammer slam here , but YOU SIR are obviously LYING to make your point or you dont notice when people take potions against you

As a new player, I gotta leave the comment that this is the most useless tip thread for new players I have ever seen.

As a new player, the biggest tip is most probably not to play with this guy, or others like him.

Probably the best advice to Agent of Kharma from a new player to boot :)

I agree,  Custom games are where the superl337 d00ds congregate,  I like staying away from that crap.
