I love the game but yeah im a bit in disbelief how bad the multiplayer side of things are. I mean it's harder than hell just to get INTO a game, once you start playing it's alright. How a game can have such a pathetic system beats the hell out of me. Sure i can see where the pirate thing might have hurt them unexpectedly initially, but now they have put those changes in place it's still really piss poor the way it performs.

Actually starting to regret a little that i purchased it now and not later. I'm usually fairly patient with things like this but like right now for example, it's 100% down and has been down for like over 3 hours. GG

That was this morning that the servers were down.

What is annoying the heck out of me right now is playing Pantheon games against mostly AIs. I was just in a 5 vs 5 map where three of us had pings (were human). So it was me vs 2 good players and I was never going to win. The AI were doing really non-helpful, stupid stuff and just providing money to the other side.

Why is Pantheon so random on its matchup, game type and map choices? I'm forced to play something random where the game would be more fun if I had a at least a little control on what I'm getting into.

Battle.net was peer to peer.

I agree, server/client is far more stable and enjoyable for nearly everyone than p2p.  With server/client one guy might lag a lot, but with p2p EVERYONE lags, and it takes FOREVER to get a game started.

I'm really disappointed, considering how much better Supreme Commander and Sins of a Solar Empire were.

I agree with everything said on this thread basically. The game is in such a state now it's just really not worth spending hours trying to get a game going... My friends and I are like well we could play demigod, correction TRY and play demigod or we could go play wc3 which has better peer/peer system than this and we can get a game within 5 minutes max, or spend 2 hours trying to get some terribly bad coding in it.

If they were offering refunds I'd take it for sure, pretty much a waste of money and with like 8-10 months worth of beta you think they could actually try use some of that time to do 'something' rather than release something completely unfinished they needed about another year and I hate betas/alphas claiming they are full version when everyone with half a brain cell knows otherwise.

Too bad complaining isnt helping, theres plenty of that.

You know what annnoys me the most?  People who create threads even though there are already a billion that exist that say the same thing.  #2 is the amount of whining and complaining that makes up about half of these boards.

Yes, a lot of people are having problems with the MP.  Yes, the P2P system is not ideal.  Yes, it would have been nice to have it fixed by the weekend.  But the constant bitching and moaning about it is not going to help.  Stardock/GPG already know the issues that plague the game and have stated what exactly they're going to fix (hell, how often does a publisher/dev actually tell you what they're working on?), so lay off, drink a beer and stop feeling like you've been butt raped because MP didn't work 100% perfect for one week.

I for one have had little to complain about the multiplayer connections. It works. It doesnt take THAT long. People that are complaining have their own issues on the side most likely.

The worst thing is having terrible... terrible teammates... *sigh*
