Demigod freezing at Intro movie

does it get stuck at a plain black screen with just the sound of wind being heard (but you can still move the mouse)? if so, I think i have the same problem :/

I had that issues a couple of times. My solution was that I went into the DG folder and "renamed" the intro movie files so that the game would skip over them entirely.  Havent had a problem since (and havent had to wait for the movies either).

yeah, I've done that on a couple of my steam games Verkinix. What files did you rename to what to skip the movies?

yep, there is a wind sound and it freezes as soon as I hit the esc button to bypass them.

i found the bink movies.

by rename, do you mean you mean just simply change the name of? or delete? and do I rename all of them?

dg_amd_logo
dg_gpg_logo
dg_stardock_logo
dg_intro

I renamed with a "1" after the name so that the game skips the intro movies and logos.

All of those are in the "movies" folder under the demigod directory.

I'm having the same issue. Renamed all the files, and it just froze at the loading screen with the sketch of Oak.

yeah, same situtaion as farmer. i renamed the files aswell, they get skipped, but the game freezes at the oak. this is really obnoxious.

Same as farmer.  Funny thing was, it worked BEFORE the update.

Hmmm... For me it has the oak background for all of 5 seconds before menu loads.

Updated graphics drivers and such?  Verified files? (note that if you verify now, they will redownload the renamed binks)

Other then that I'm not sure. Maybe a restart of the comp here and there.

Same issue here, don't know what's causing it... yeah ever since the first update it crashes after first video, that, coupled with the terrible connection times (sometimes over 10-15 minutes) in the pantheon this release for me has been sub par, and much less than I expected from the team behind it.   It would be nice if someone could launch a game that works as intended from day one, espeically after such great beta phase. 

Hope it's fixed soon before i lose interest... 

from what I'm reading, the admin on the other thread has said there servers are getting pounded(pirates according to them), and this might be the reason why our game is hanging on the loading screen. I guess there's a server handshake before the menu screen? Not sure. They did say they are aware of the issue and are working on it.

Hey! It worked! thanks! it just sits at the oak screen for 5 secs.

Just bought the game, rushed home, installed...checked for updates... you must register notice appears.... enter registration info....WHAMO...."I have a registration error" your email or registration key is invalid... checked my email..its ok...checked the registration on the cd sleeve its ok... whats wrong... dashes no dashes what gives?

I had this freezing problem too.  It went away when I updated my graphics card driver.
