Reuploading of PDJ Is Finished!!!

What am I to do?

It is done...my part, at least. I am posting here to let you all know that you can go ahead and upload at will without fear of my pushing you off the page. I will reduce my uploads to a very slow trickle now...lol.

Again I wish to thank you all for your patience, and I hope there are no hard feelings among us.  O:)   And again, thank you to Jafo and Spencer for helping me with this trying ordeal.  Here's to hoping that the New WC will have tools for avoiding this kind of thing in the future. And I hereby vow:  I will NEVER try to change my nick again!!!!

Hello guys. I have just recieved a couple of complaints for flooding the galleries. I thought I would write this post to apologize for the trouble.

As most of you know, I have had site problems for over a year now. There have been a lot of headaches for me, and for WC over this issue. As you also may know, I recently got a couple of real good fellers at WC to help me with this. One major drawback. I have to repopulate my site, one skin at a time.

Needless to say, those of you who upload much realize, with the current state of the website, this is a formidable task. I am having to remake screenshots, reupload every skin one by one, half the time getting errors, and starting over. I too realize that this causes some problems for other skinners getting thier stuff seen. I apologize for this. I have been instructed to do it this way by WC Staff. They told me that either way, it wasn't gonna be pretty.

I do not mean to be selfish or anything. As fellow skinners I ask this of you:

I have been patient for over a year, please be patient with me for just another day or two?

If I don't take care of this now, while I have willing help, I will be in limbo for another year. Yall don't want that do you?

So I ask, please be patient with me for a couple more days and this will be over.

The fact still remains that he has buried other skinners work.

So wait 'till he's done and upload some skins to put yourself at the top of the pile. ;P

more like 2 2/3 pages

If you view 100 skins per page, less than half of that.

I don't know if it's a lot of trouble but perhaps the mods could update the date on the skins other than Jim's that's been posted so far this year in the DX Themes Gallery.

It's only 20 skins to update. That would bump them up to the front page and it would be fair to the artist that's new stuff was pushed off the first few pages.

It would need to be done after I finish, or same thing all over again. Maybe I am more trouble than my subs are worth?   -_-

You are a valued member of this community. There is no monitary value that can be assigned to that.

You are one of the bigger contributors to the site and I love your stuff. You should know your statement is not true.

I was just trying to suggest a way to satisfy everyone.

Please lighten up folks. I don't dwell in the forums very much due to my work load. I was just repeating something I heard from someone else. I have all ready offered my apologies to Jim and with that I will let it go. People here seem so ready to attack others and that is why I don't participate. It would have been better to offer the post before the upload frenzy and then all of us would have known why the galleries were being flooded with Jim's work. All I said was I wanted to have my whine, I did and I am over it. Please forgive my misunderstanding. X(

Absolutely not, sir!  As Cyndie said, you're a valued member of the WC community.  While I do feel bad for those whose subs are being pushed back, I do understand that it's to simply bring your account back up to speed.  I realize that I have nothing in the DX gallery, but, if I did, I'd be willing to wait a day or two so you can brought back to life.

Just keep on doing what you have to do Jim. Yeah it upsets me to have my work buried But I will get over it. It's funny if a person goes along with every one else he's a good guy but if he has an opinion that is different then the others think he is wrong. And I am not just talking about this post I have seen it time after time in the forum.

Any way Jim I understand how you feel and you understand how i feel. And at the end of the day we will keep on doing what we do.  I am sorry to hear that you got some nasty letters. It's ok for some one to be upset and have a difference of opinion but it's not right to be nasty about it. Sorry if any thing i said made you feel bad that was not my intention. As I said that was just my opinion

Jim has a LOT of works that need to be restored/reuploaded to his revised account. There's no 'easy' way to do this.....whether it's done over a very long time bit by bit...or as quickly as possible all at once there will be the effect of 'flooding'.

In this particular instance it is both necessary and approved, so as he says....please bear with it for a little while

What Jafo said. Normally, we want to discourage flooding of galleries, but this is a special case and we permitting it as we want his gallery to return as soon as possible.

Can't disagree that this is a special case but since Jim's site issues have been well known about for the last year, IMHO, a heads-up to the community that this was being done would have been nice.

We have his previous history and download counts, so any revisions will be made at a later time.

Just curious, does this include original upload dates that will be reset if/when download counts are.

Again just IMHO, if download counts are reset as ID's statement implies the upload dates should be.

I just want to wish everyone a Happy Easter, and to let you know I will be celebrating the holiday along with you. I will resume uploading sometime late this afternoon, and I will try to finish with this round, so as not to inconvenience the community any longer than necessary. Have a great day and enjoy your families!

So we're all agreed that while it may be irksome to have our work buried, we are in full support of Jim getting back up to speed.

Now let's all hope that the new WC site will have better mod tools to easily fix or transfer user data & content and prevent this kind of snafu from occuring again.

sVis got it right....

Yes, it's irksome.....it's irksome because the geography of the site doesn't allow a simple pain-free  solution to cock-ups such as the one Jim suffered with his account/s.

Since there really is no other way, the process will disadvantage a few people for a short while.  The process at our end was/is no romp in the park, either....it too takes time.

But the effort is worth it....and it makes no difference which galleries were to be affected, the same process would be applied.

I, too hope WC2K9 will be structured more cleverly to avoid similar instances....:)

Keep on truckin', Jim!  Hope everything gets settled soon

Thanks for re-uploading Jim, I missed some of your earlier work!

Thanks for re-uploading Jim, I missed some of your earlier work!

Some of my earlier work was on one of those "other" sites I had. Most of it needs updating, which I will get to. I want all my work to be resolution independent.
