Apparently no criticism of Stardock is allowed.. is called blasting and they ban you. You may be next, but SD has your money

Their TOC's have to be illegal since SD has no responsiblity, are solely the deciders of what each definition means and everything is accessible on the internet.

https://forums.stardock.com/344765; https://forums.stardock.com/344697;

look what they did to a friend of mine... of course use any profanity you want, personal attacks are ok but never criticiise Stardock. the frriend did not do these things but got banned any way.

Note: you can google Stardock (SD) forums. so its out there for everyone ALL the time. Does stardock have a responsibility for what their site posts on the internet? Absolutely! there are legal ramifications.

http://www.google.com/search?q=stardock+recode&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GPCK_enUS311US312&aq=t

Will their customers be able to hold them accountable? judging from past history most of you will chicken out, but everyone's exposed here due to SD business practices.  A lawyer probably could have a subpoena issued to find out who slandered another person and Stardock would have to comply. Bullying on the internest is probably illegal and SD does little to protect its customers (see the internet link above), in fact it is an games industry thing..

Again SD forums are not private but public therefore banning folks should be for the excessive language, slander, etc. IMO not for SD not enforcing their stated policy and well deserved critiicism. if the pharmacy prescriptions with SS #'s of thousands can be held stolen you are not anonymous www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/07/AR2008110703434.html

Stardock (SD) doesn't

1. have unfair policies,

2. state that people arent banned when they are

I'm locking this thread as the OP keeps editing the original post
then Island Dog locked my friend out, and banned them sent a form letter about stardock being harrassed.  My friend does not believe this is resolved
and isn't the edit button for editing?

3. tell untruths about schedule and then excuse themselves, "were making it better" Can customers pay them on a slipped schedule? well NO

later Zoonba says:

If a particular user is persistently causing issues, they will be dealt with, but it is not our responsibility to enforce a perfect politically correct environment. Everyone is going to be offended by something at some point.

Making an angry post and having others respond in kind, however, is not the same thing. You do not have a right to be shielded from even the slightest offense, especially when your own tone has played no small part in the tone of the resulting replies. If you expect calm and polite replies from others, then you need to post calmly and politely yourself (tip: boasting and threatening legal action are neither). That's just common sense.

my friend did not boast but suggested sending the authorities links to their internet posting was appropriate. see above: its out there anyway, you can google it. That scares SD. The government might hold them accountable for everthing on thier web site including illegal activity.

Remember smoking? It will happen. SD will not be a leader they claim to be, take the issue and get it resolved for the safety of all.

http://www.romow.com/culture-blog/murder-on-myspace-hoax-leads-to-suicide/

My friend is deeply melancoly about thier treatment by Stardock, hope nothing happens to them.

4. I guess the language referenced below is not a problem. only "justified" anger at people who clearly would not treat friends and family the way the treat this person anonymously on the internet. Look up the definition of Slander, which my friend points out correctly here.

look at the link; is the word F**K posted there? is my friend accused of having a "mental lobotomy" .etc. YES THAT violates what Stardock claims in the second post to be reason for banning people who post these thing. but they banned my friendafter a second post objecting toi this treament.

on http://www.neoseeker.com F**K was posted as *bleep* automatically when my friend posted there. The full word was never used but shown as what SD allows. SD has loads of programmers and this forum does not even have spell check.

well stardock is a company worth millions and my friend is an individual who is disabled and poor. Lets defend Goliath.

5. Here's an idea, how about eliminating the reasons for criticism not customers.. wow what a concept. Substance over style, wow

6. The games my friend paid for do not work or update, since impluse is forced on the customer along with the forums as a package deal. well they were paid for before impluse was implemented and the TOC's were in force.

Look at the incongruity with SD's gamer's bill of rights and the TOC's. You have no rights, only SD in the TOC's and In My Opinion (IMO) probably illegal too.

7. I realise this post will be spammed, flamed. excessivie language, violatied per SD's postings on TOC's. Now at least you Stardock fanactics can not say you weren't warned.

Stardock is no friend of customers. apparently one should not even discuss going to authorities for SD behavior and conduct.

Stardock, me thinks you protest too much! To paraphrase.

Yeah this is gonna get locked, but oh well.

Yeah like we really believe it was "your friend" and not just you under a differnet name.

And illegal, what are you smoking? Illegal how and according to what? This is a PRIVATELY OWNED site, they can make their own rules and enforce them however they see fit. If they want to make a rule that we all have to speak in pig latin, they are well within their rights to do that. No attorney general or representative can do anything, that's laughable. I think *you* doth protest too much.

"A friend of mine," now that's rich.  Please, by all means keep this up, it's kind of amusing.I suggest starting with a detailed explanation of how a privately run internet message board not censoring people that are mean to you is "illegal."

Take your meds

The scary thing is, I don't think he has any.

I just want to point out that your friend is quite inconsistent with what he says, and posts random "problems" that obviously can't be solved by anyone... may I ask what it is that you now want from the people here?  If you aren't happy here why don't you leave?  Stardock has always been fair with me (for the most part... lol) and these forums have their own moderators that have their own views, and not necessarily the views of Stardock.  We all come on here for something. Me personally, I'm not here for confrontation, and I'm certainly not on a mission to save the world from the "evil" stardock, and what they stand for.  In the 9 years or so that I've been a part of wincustomize, and the skin sites that came before it, I've understood that there will always be someone creating a problem, and someone who can't understand why they got banned.

The reason your "friend" was banned is because he is a nuisance, and he was banned by the independant moderators, and not by Stardock.  Your friend is more than welcome to be here, but if he's only here to cause trouble, why would we want him here?  We as a community decide who we want and don't want here.  This site for the most part is ran by the skinners that upload, and the fans that contribute.  Be nice to people and they may want you around, but stir things up and they have no reason to let you be here.

By the way...

Posting on Wincustomize about your customer service problem with Stardock makes no sense.

Take it where it belongs.

Wow, I think this thread may be worse than anything I've seen Siddy post.

A poster whose name indicates he logged on just to whine, with abysmal spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills, and an inability to present his "argument" in a coherent manner...yeah, we've seen that before.  :D

You are mistaken if you think that the internet is a law free zone. Only the enforcement is missing.

Your friend....

Well my friend asked me to post this. My friend thinks your friend has fallen off the deep end. You realize that when you feel resistance on the cue tip you must stop pushing??...Oh sorry does your friend realize?

And when and how did SD force the forums upon anyone. No-one is asked or required to post on any forum as part of their gaming/customization experiance....

Who is to say where this was posted. I thought it was well known by now that all SD sites are linked. I read this and theother pertaining thread from GC2.com.

It is in off topic, though i must agree this thread, the OP and his friend all need to be taken elsewhere.......

Stardock (SD) doesn't

1. have unfair policies,

I think Stardock would agree with that -- they DON'T have unfair policies, they have fair policies.

(I would have let this thread alone, but double negatives are a pet peeve of mine).

I used the google search you provided, read the 'about that...' thread and have to say: Lol. If you expect to get any sensible replies from a post like that, where even when offered help by multiple SD employees you refuse to state your exact problem or system specs... Then, yeah, "It's the internet, toughen up.".

ROFL - I have seen the CEO on Stardock engage in a debate with user's who criticise his company. He doesn't ban them. He either listens to their criticism if valid, or corrects their mis-conception (e.g. about Impulse) due to a short coming of their understanding.

Go look at some OTHER forums if you want to see what banning is like, or content being suppressed etc....

April fools?

I looked through Recode's posting history, what there was of it.  He's never even replied to help recieved.  Still pretending you aren't the same person, perhaps he should check himself into a mental institution since he obviously needs therapy, lots and lots of therapy.

Mooooooo!

When I search for posts by the OP, I only come up with 1 - this OP.

That leads me to believe that stardockstinks, simply, stinks for no good reason.

April Fools

One would hope but probably not...

More like 'Revenge of the Exiled... along the lines of "Revenge of the Nerds' but nowhere near as funny.
