Flak is overpovered

Flak is overpovered

Flak is OP

Flak is fine against fighters....  BUT  ,IS grossly OP against other units. Espesialy TEC and vasari flak.

Tec due to higest hp /cheapest cost and vasari due phaaaaase missiles and charget missiles.

That said: Flak is fine against fighters

Why? Well...

It is night impossible to remove flak from the battlefield due to near immunity to LRF fire and STUPIDLY hig hp... best hp/cost ratio of all frigs and cruisers.

So flak that is nearly unconterable is now a permanent deterrant from using fighters. This leads to 60/40 ratio in LRF/Flak fleet composition wich is now the "way to win". You cant use LF's due to LRM precense and you cant use fighters due to 75% building penalty of flak. HC's are only option, but by the time you get to that point, it is usualy too late.

Sollution?

Nerf Flak HP 50% and lover the armor a bit. It is still usualy most ignored unit in the field, but atleast now it whuld be removable, not like 1200HP 300 shield gardas are now.

dammit...i was going to make a thread about how scouts were OP'ed and could massively screw your economy with their cheap BS spammable mine detecting ability and how they always haxxed ur massive 2000 supply fleet into chasing them when the system is being invaded by things...idk...a little more noticeable? way to ruin it for me.

Its off topic, but I think the name Drain Planet is so dull.  Why not rename it to something like Suck planet?  Best if also activates vacuum animation (Spaceballs).

Correct - bonus points to explain why using John Hurt was so funny...

He got the "special".

MBaron888 gets it - he was the actor who got the chest buster in Alien

Alien. To this day one of my favorite movies. It's a shame what the franchise has become though.

Oh yeah. FLAK SUCKS RIGHT!!!!!

bah, everyone hates on Alien 3 so much but i liked that one. Ressurection did legitimately suck though, which was surprising and embarassing because it was from Joss Whedon who is usually quite excellent.

They need to learn to retire if they run out of ideas.  I wish George Lucas would learn that too.

George Lucas should have retired in 1983, right after Return of the Jedi. Thank god I have the original trilogy on dvd and not those crappy remake. Watching Han Solo stepping on Jabba's tail was very painful. I saw it only once but I was scared for life. Never again!!!

the special editions weren't such a travesty. still more or less the same movies that we loved, a few ret-conned in new "deleted scenes" didn't spoil it for me. i also thing it didn't really add anything and the original release versions are actually slightly better just because they're more in touch with what movie making was really like in the 70s/80s. very impressive films for their era. adding in late 90's era CGI just breaks the visual style in a stupid way without adding anything worth adding.

Indiana Jones IV on the other hand was just an epic failure.

Lucas should not had go back and make Episode I II and III; it ruined Star Wars for me.

I think He made the originals for the art; the prequels just for the money.

Anyway, I went back and tested Ruthlessness on Crusader.  In theory it should slowly damage a bunch ships in range, but the ships also regenrates.  Basically it just balance out the regen.  Sadly the only thing it can beat down are constructors and tradeships etc; they don't seem to regen.

I agree to disagree, watching Greedo shoot first and miss (from 3 feet away no less) is a travesty.

As for Indy4, yeah that was a bad movie. Indy in Fridge vs. Nuclear Bomb = wtf were they thinking!?!

i'll agree you with 110% on the idiocy of having Greedo shoot first. that was just wrong. the whole point is that Han has a hard edge. He shoots first and he doesn't give a crap whether or not it was honorable. You don't treat scum like Greedo with honor. Han is cool because he knows that.

on the other hand, the little back and forth between Han and Jabba in the Mos Eisley docking bay wasn't bad at all. i kinda liked it. and having Luke exchange some friendly words with Biggs before the Trench Run was kinda cool too. not all the SE stuff was terrible.

but yeah, Greedo shooting first is definitely a travesty.

Wow from flak to sci-fi movies review.  LOL.

George Lucas REALLY needs to stop shooting his own franchise in the foot, regardless of how much money hes getting from doing it. the whole thing is just wrong. >=O

George Lucas made great movies during the time he was married to film editor Marcia Lou Griffin. Before he met her, his movies sucked. After the divorce, his movies sucked.

Face it, Lucas was a hack all along. It was Marcia that made Star Wars great.
