A death in the family...

On October 27th my poppa died. I was at the apatment of his and my grandmas, when my mom and I went in to check his breathing and pulse, and found neither.

As we waited for the ambulance I lay next to the body of my poppa, holding him and sobbing as he was gone, and I couldn't believe it.

I had just been talking to him 20 minutes before! He hugged me and told me how much he loved me, and I knew in that moment his love was true and bigger than the whole world.

His funeral was November 4th. I spoke at it, and I was so hard to share about my poppa to all these people, without breaking down.

He is in heaven now watching over me, and playing with his great-grand daughter Jayden Lynn.

I love you poppa!

My condolences Janders. I know what you're going through...I just lost my mom in August due to a freak accident.

It will get better with time.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  He will always be with you though.  I lost my grandpa 9 years ago and I still miss him terribly.  He was like a second father to me in a lot of ways.  I still feel his bear hugs and whisker rubs and smell his cologne in my dreams of him.

Best wishes.

Jamie said this happened I'm so sorry Joey. I guess we all know how you feel. My grandma passed away on my 14th birthday and my Nanna passed away on December 7 2002 Elana was born on December 6 2003 - my mum likes to think that God gave her Elana to heal her pain.

I'm so happy and sad for you at the same time. He's looking after Jayden so you can take care of his new great-grandchild to be.

I found out I was pregnant 3 days after the funeral, I think this baby is a gift to heal mine, my mom and my grandma's grief.
