Chris Jones Gaming proudly presents...

STAR TREK ARMADA III (working title)

Description:

A Mod set in the Post Dominion War TNG era, an era of instability.

The mod is aimed to bring a Star trek armada style gameplay to sins of a solar empire, starting out with the 4 major races and possible expansion in the future. Currently development is slow but allot of progress has been made.

Current Situation:

Chris Jones Gaming is currently looking for experiance modellers and porters to work on the sins mod.

to join the team you must abide to certain criteria, wich are the following.

- Some experiance in 3d Modelling

- In posession of Softimage XSI 6.01 or Higher

If you want to join in another field of the mod you are also welcome to join we still need.

- Mappers

- Scripters

- Sound Engineers

- Music Composers/Mixers

- Particle Effect Creators

ALL PEOPLE WHO WISH TO JOIN WILL NEED THE ENTRENCHMENT EXPANSION PACK!

Current Races planned for the mod:

- Federation

- Klingon

- Romulan

- Borg

- Vulcan (unplayable)

The ship behaviour in the mod will be using Fighter behaviour for a more cinematic experiance, some ships like artillery howver will still use the stand still and fire tactic. Fighters and shuttles will be a reasonably big role in the mod, as well as fighter defence. the Borg will have the ablity to assimilate (It has been tested and works) and will be a very powerfull enemy, the borg will NOT be dummed down, their ships will be very expensive and will take a long time to build as even their small ships are allot stronger then their counterparts.

When a beta of the mod is available for the mod we will need beta testers but it has not come this for YET.

and here atm some screenshots to make your mouths water:

Chris Jones is a well known, and respected modder for Starfleet Command, Bridge Commander, Nexus, and Legacy. Darkshimmer, and I have worked with him before. We go way back.

The models posted are also in SoA 2 (defiant, akira.) Both made by Rick Knox. Dont remember who did the Norway.

Seems like i am seeing many old friends from the old SFC/BC community joining Sins. Welcome Chris :)

CJ's mod will not interfere, or conflict with the SoA 2 mod in any way. We are NOT nor will we ever be in any kind of competition for whos mod is better. So get the idea out of your heads peeps. We are doing two totally different concepts that happen to both be in the star trek universe. Though i was never a big fan of Armada, It is good someone else has taken up trek modding here. A little variety never hurts. If CJ needs help the SoA 2 team will assist in whatever way we are able. Hopefully the same can be offered in return.

I wish people would work on existing mods on the same IP over new ones. Even if they don't cover the same concepts, splintering results in dead mods.

Yeah I am glad there are good Star Trek/Star Wars Mods, some competition on BSG might be a good thing.

Homeworld had at least 3 active trek mods. Bridge Commander, and Starfleet Command had countless mods. All done by different mod teams. All succesfull. SoA 2 wont die if i have any say over it. Im sure CJ wont let his project die if he can help it as well. The mods arent splintered. CJ just has his own vision of what he wants to do with his mod. Just as i have my own vision with SoA 2. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact i encourage more Trek projects.

Chris Jones worked on countless projects. Dont dismiss his talant. Check out his prior works.

If CJ wishes to help with SoA 2 that will be his choice. I already offered the SoA 2 teams assistance with his stuff.

I know Rick Knox, I used to play WOW with him, he also did most of the ship modles for Star Trek Legacy.  looking forward to what he and the rest of the gang comes up with for Sins.  Love the Akira its such a sweet looking ship.

Good enough. I've just been jaded with these sort of things coming from EaW, and it's a shame to see quality work potentially go to waste. My first modding experience was in Armada II so if this can be pulled off I think it would be insanely good.
