Updated Mods

Sorry if I sound stupid, I'm new to the game (and the forums, for that matter). What are some good mods that work for the most updated versions of Sins and Entrenchment? I played with several that were popular on Impulse, but not a single one on Impulse has been updated since the release of Entrenchment. I tried my favorites just to see if they still worked, but they didn't. I've been scanning around the recent forums, but not being too sucessful. For example, one isn't quite finished, the other works only for Sins 1.1-1.14, etc. I tried the search engine (oh dear...) but that didn't work too well (to put it nicely), so can some people suggest some good mods that work for Entrenchment and Sins? Thanks guys. :grin:

Another unrelated question: what is the point to giving the AI resources? I gave one race probably a good 5,000 credits and a few thousand metal and crystal. It did nothing. There seems to be absolutely no point. Is the only reason for online play then? (I don't play online though, so I don't know if giving stuff is still an option)

as of this minuite the only mods for entrenchment 1.02 are bailknights and distant stars

is bailknights available alone? I tried to get distant stars, but wasn't so willing to download the whole uncompressor 7-zip program, especially right after hearing a lecture on internet safety.

The search function is broken so you'd have to look manually. It works for 1.02 Entrenchment, but the starbase effects are still regular projectiles.

When I downloaded bailknights from the link above, but it didn't come as zipped folder, just one big file. A made a new folder for it and dragged it into the Mods - Entrenchment 1.02 folder, but it didn't work. (It did show up on the game though, but the projectiles were the same). Suggestions?

it isa RAR file. I suggest googleing winrar or 7zip downloading and installing then opening the rar & extracting the contents to the mods entrenchment v1.02 folder

Here are a couple of mods I made, both updated for the latest version of Entrenchment:

Volumetric Explosions & Damage Effects  - creates voluminous explosions with a more "visceral" ship fragmentation.

Dynamic Battle System  - transforms fleet engagements from static to dynamic affairs, where most of the ships maneuver all the time, and all the interesting side effects that entails.

I really have to get around promoting those two on Impulse...

thanks harpo and ManSh00ter. One more question: I downloaded 7Zip, and clicked extract for Bailknights mod RAR file. it seemed to work, I got a new folder, with various files in it. So, I went on to Sins, and activated that mod. Projectiles seem the same. (but I don't have time for a whole game right now, so i just tested it for a capital ship and a couple frigates). Any way to tell if the mod is working or not?
