Galaxy Forge (Please Help)

You need to put them in the game directory (C:\programfiles\stardockgames\sinsofasolarempire\galaxy) if you are playing entrenchment make a secound copy in the entrenchement\galaxy of sinofasolarempire then modify galaxy.manifest with the name of map and add one to count.

I have put the file in both places and they still dont show up on the single player maps page is there something i have to do when i make the map for it to show up when i want to play it

and by the way i am only using the regular copy of sins of a solar empire not entrenchment and i dont have any mods on either

there is one thing u can do and it is to rename the map off a map in sins (Ex. Face Off) this worked for me and it might work for u

ok i renamed the file and it still does not work do you have any other suggestions?

if you are using galaxy forge 3 with sins 1.15/entrenchment then you MUST use the program files/stardock games/sins of a solar empire/galaxy folder

for earlier galaxy forge ie 1.1 which uses map format version 2 the maps do not show up because 1.15 does not know how to read v2 maps any more, BUT I did write a map updateing utility that updates all version 2 maps to version 3 so you can play all older maps. it can be downloaded here sins_map_updater_v1.1.8.rar it looks for sins version 1.15 and will work on non-english windows as well as english language windows ie xp,xp64,vista 32, vista 64,windows 7 32 AND windows 7 64 bits

ok guys this is what has happend i made a map and saved it to all the spots u told me to and i changed the name to a sins map name and then i got it to work. After that i tried to make a new map and i did all the same things but this one will not show up do you guys have an answer for that?

oo and i tried to uses the sins_map_updater_v1.1.8.rar thing but it doesnt know what to open it with can u help

hailking it was compressed with winrar, my suggestion is to google either winrar or 7zip download the installer for the program and install it then you can unrar the map updater.
by the way it is for sins 1.15/entrenchment 1.01 only,
there is a new version for sins 1.16 entr 1.02 here http://files.filefront.com/sins+map+updater+v119rar/;13495250;fileinfo.html.
again it is a rar file as it saves 10K compared to winzip 9.0 compressing the same files ie zip creates a 40kb file winrar creates a 30kb file, which is why I used it.

ya i dont have entrenchment i only have the normal game sso will it still work

the 1.18 version is for sins 1.15 and entrenchment 1.01 ie it will work for either or both

the 1.19 version is for sins 1.16 and entrenchment 1.02 ie it will work for either or both, but will NOT work for the 1.15/entrenchment 1.01 as the program does check the sins exe so that it does not stuff up maps for an earlier or later version

harpo 1 more quick question i get a defeat thing pops up when i try to play it any suggestions

Harpo 1 last question is their a way i can make it so my teammates start next to me

yes in galforge you set the teamnumber in the player settings to the same for each team member and the default is -1 for no team team 1 ,team 2 etc ant then set the players home planets near each other

ok i made the map it works fine i can play it everything works but when i go online it wont let other people play the map because they dont have it do u have any answers?

the only suggestion is to email the map to them or upload to a file hosting place and have them download it and save it in the galaxyforge folder next to their mods folder

there might be other ways that I do not know of, but these suggestions should work.

I get the 'Defeat' screen when i try to play my custom game also, how did you fix it?

mrthebeast, some questions that should point out the solution how many players, how many home planets, how many teams ignoring any on team -1, where did you save the map, which sins/entrenchment version, which galaxy forge version?
