A question concerning the map creator

I can't seem to find a good tutorial or what the things mean.  What are the "chances of phase lanes".  What is really the difference between just pick a random small map and creating this yourself considering I can't figure out for the life of me how to adjust where the phase lanes are.  I was disapointed to find out I can't create phase lane locations where I please and between what planets I please.  Why would I want too?  to create choke points.  makes the game fun when you concentrate on one area to defend.  I can't seem to do this with more than one planet per a character.  There is a lot of features that say "min and max" but when I preview they don't really change anything.  Some clariffication to how this works would be nice.

There is a program called Galaxy Forge that lets you design your own maps. It's available from the downloads section. As for difference between random maps and map designer: very small, designer just let's you set the values by which the random map is generated.

Galaxy forge isn't working currently because the game changed the map formats, but a new version of galaxy forge that creates the new format hasn't yet been released.

the latest galaxy forge is out and working called galaxyforge3.rar on the downloads page

I have used it to alter a map I had updated with the sins map updater, but at present these tools do not add maps to the galaxy manifest for entrenchment

So the answer is that Galaxy forge prgoram allows and gives better features but a entrenchment version is not out yet?  Ok thanks.  I'll keep an eye out for the entrenchment version.

Thanks

the maps are compatible, the only thing is the manual edit of the galaxy.manifest and increase the count of lines at the start of the manifest
