Wrestle them with this! Certainly the most amusing review of Sins and Entrenchment yet.

How did this expansion shape up?  Not like $10 is a lot, but is it a must have! purchases?

If you ask me, yes. There are a lot of awesome changes it brings. Especially if you like mods, it opened many new doors for mods (changing graphical appearance of ships/buildings through research/upgrades, weapons being able to shoot at more than one target at once, frigates with fighter physics, mod stacking, etc). Much of these things are due to the way Starbases were implemented (like the number of targets and appearance changes), and through modding can be expanded to pretty much anything else. Of course there are AI improvements, like sieges trying to go around your cluster of turrets (as only the most obvious)! ;)

Could anyone please tell me how big the expansion is? In megabytes.

100mb dl but it says 300mb install? Something to that effect.

the 300mb install is because it needs room to unpack and all that.   the 300 should be the size of the compressed download + the uncompressed actual install files, or something like that.

Its really not that big all things considered.

I personally feel that the starbases are a much needed feature.   Now we just need better AI and diplomacy options, so if only somebody thought of ... wait, that is the next expansion!   so when's beta?    ;D
