- All maps updated to version 3.
- Fix crash when downloaded or custom maps are in the default Galaxy directory.
- Fixed crash when trying to select custom maps.
- Fixed in-game Map Designer from crashing.
- Ships taken over with the Rapture's Domination ability now properly leave fleets they are in and join the Rapture's fleet if it is in one.

- Replays should now work again.

If has been a well know fact that when you update you lose your saved games. Its been like that for every update since the start.

As I said in my first post, I'm new to the game and this has been one of the first time I had to patch the game since I saved a match.  Thanks for reading.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's been said many timse that saved files are invalid once patched.  At this point everyone reading this knows this problem.  Now I'm glad we all think that this is all "working as intended" so I guess we can just leave it all at that.

Look, I know your pissed off. But I dont deserve to be caught in the crossfire. I said that, cuz your new and you may not of know that. All I can say, way not to be a blind sheep and patch without reading up on the patches themself. Sure this change log does not say IN bold letters will make replays and save games invaild. But if you did some reasearch on previous patches you will find ppl have said the same thing you said every patch. So before you get bitchy again, and decide to bash somone b/c they share some info to better help you understand that this is a well understood topic. Think. You had the choice to update. So its your fault for such. Not mine, IC, Stardock, or anyone else who might be involved.

Besides, if you honestly got a problem the you need to talk to IC. Its [email protected] . NOT us.

I apologize.  It's just annoying to be told that this is a "well known fact" (but not well known enough to prevent this from happening to some new players every new patch).

I guess I'm just a blind sheep for not researching an issue I did not know existed before downloading.  I did read the patch log before downloading, and I don't recall seeing any warnings about this.  So, "this change log does not say IN bold letters...", no it doesn't even say it at all.  I did not realize it was expected and common practice for people to research something like this on the forums.

It's not a "well understood topic" if this problem occurs to new players everytime there's a patch.  It's well understood because we've had it happen to us.  To anyone who's new to this, it will not be "a well understood topic".  Am I the only one here who thinks this is an issue that should be addressed, by either making previous saved files valid or allowing users to revert back to older patches?  Or do some of you love this game too much that you refuse to admit there could be a flaw with it?

Thank you for the email address.  I will try my luck there.

I try to update, but I get a message stating that the Patch is too big. This is ridiculous. This is via Impulse, as usual btw.

Perhaps AV or a firewall is messing with the download?

Did you patch the original game to v1.15 first?  I hear that not patching it first might screw the expansion installation.

No update sounds? I was hoping they would replace the cobalt sound effects and the stupid repair cruiser sound effects like they did with entrenchment... Does it really hurt anything to put them in standard sins?

O-well, I'll probably end up getting entrenchment sooner or later anyways...  :)

Well they could provide Entrenchment as a patch to Sins. But I think asking for 10$ now and then is fair considering their continuous arduous work on improving the game. They're probably not working for free. ;)

These auto download with impulse?  Never mind,  it did.

So will 1.14 mods work with 1.15 or will us modders have to make it compatible?

Autosaves from a previous version works. Strangely enough.

Not sure how autocast on repair work now, the skirantas(sp) carrier's autorepair did not trigger to repair a severely damaged frigate in its radius, but perhaps it won't to trigger to repair one in 30 or so ships. (A sentinel).... however, that was on the autosave from 1.14 that did start. Can't see how that would happen, but it's a detail.

Other than that, patches r gud. :D

I Patched my vanilla SOASE to v1.15 and now my game won't run. Gee thanx for the update Impulse. NOT!

All I get now is a black screen, no sound and a frozen CPU.

It was bad enough the game never ran from the original CD & I had to download it, had to download & use Impulse to update and now I can't even play it anymore...wahhh...

Any ideas out there?? (besides emailing, obviously) Thanx in advance for any help.

better answer is to download the sins map updater on the downloads page & run it.

it will read all of the maps & check if they have the versionnumber at 3 if not it will then read through the map adding the changed sections of the map format to the header AND each planet.

Thanks a lot Harpo.  I didn't know about the Map Updater and now I'm going to use it to update the maps I myself have made.
