That's cool.  Why has this been so popular recently?  Any particular marketing efforts that would have helped (other than putting on Game of the Year)?

Haha holy shit if that's true that's amazing that they beat WoTLK. However between the two I do find myself enjoying GCII more so I suppose its fair.

I like to think it's because I've been telling every person I've met that Stardock is the only company worth mentioning these days for PC gaming . I can think of one or two other companies but they don't have the pretty shiny record of interaction with me that S does.

Er, seems Gamasutra or NPD messed up, it's actually the Ultimate box which was just released this week.

No apparently is is game of the year. There was a big special on it apparently with the retailer Gamasutra uses.

Cool hopefully with the ultimate edition out now hopefully both can stay up in top 10 for the next few months. But man I am shocked that the original Gal Civ 2 is still kicking butt in sales... Stardock just keep up the great work! [e digicons]:beer:[/e] [e digicons][/e]

This is what happens when you take a great game and don't add malicious copy protection. It is completely your own fault. Now your pants will be so filled with money that you must hire two guys just to hold them up for you.

Amazon.com was selling it for $10 the other day. I'm guessing that's where all the sales came from.

Certainly congrats.   I guess it hit that sweet spot of, older game so good price, but new enough that its features make the game worth buying.

Amazing.  When everyone that buys it finds out how much better the two expansions are, they will probably be interested in them also.  You might want to think about putting the expansion bundle pack on sale.

I saw GalCiv2 at Target in the value gaming section for $10.  I don't think I saw this before, but I don't check there too often.  I wonder if they'll get the Game of the Year edition, too (or maybe it was there and I just missed it somehow).
